Chapter 9

910 Words

Aisha's POV Simon's golden eyes stayed locked onto mine as he sat upright, his powerful body relaxed despite the injuries. Yet, there was no mistaking the sharp protectiveness in his gaze, as if he were shielding me from an invisible threat. I hated the warmth that flickered in my chest at the sight. Even my pack couldn't protect me neither did my mate. My heart melted from Simon's protectiveness because I don't remember the last time I had that. He was's an Alpha. Alphas didon't protect outsiders for free. It didn't matter that he defended me earlier. If he ever found out that I wasn't a wolf, that warmth would disappear, just like everyone else who had learned my secret. I wouldn't fall into that trap. Swallowing hard, I shifted my focus back to the X-ray in my hands.
