Chapter 26 - Hiding in the shadows
I couldn't see a lot through my blindfold but something large stood in front of me. The heat rolling off it was hot and heavy. I felt my throat close up as I sensed it getting closer and I could feel its hot breath on my face. The blindfold fell from my face and for a moment, I thought I had been imagining it. All I could see was darkness. Then... My eyes adjusted and I realised that the creature just blended into the dark due to its long shaggy black fur. Golden eyes stared at me. It was a Wolf. If I had Moonlight she would have been able to communicate with it, to recognise it if it was one we knew or had seen before. My body would not have had the innate response that it was having.
