Chapter 67: Talon's POV
When I thought nothing could go wrong, I was being a fool.
As we stepped out into the courtyard, I realised then that everything had gone wrong.
Bodies of five of my men lay on the floor in a pool of their own blood. And the moment I saw the first of one of them, I knew already they had come for Avalyn.
Greg jogged towards me with panic in his eyes and I didn't bother to hear what he had to say.
I could have recited it with my eyes closed.
"They have taken Emily and Avalyn!" He announced.
