Useless used to be an ordinary word until it became a person —It became me.
Talon couldn't even look at me when he came. He asked about the baby and especially only asked when I was ready to have another child for him.
That made me more than useless. I was a burden and I should have died with my child. I shouldn't have stayed alive.
"Avalyn?" Sara called my name and I looked at her.
