CHAPTER 4 RACE

"Actually students... We still have to do the tradition of having a solo and partner fight like usual. So... We will all go to the contest area to test your magics if it does improve or not. The Battle was also for newbies to show their skills and tactics." Mama said. A solo and partner fight? Oh.. Dad told me that before everyone start their classes they first fight each other in solo and with a partner. He also told me that the partner you get at the first day of the school would be your partner for lifetime. Though he didn't told me who became his partner....

Everyone didn't complain about it and just followed Mama's Order.

"Now in your position..."

"Don't worry little sis. I got you. No one would be able to hurt you as long as your brother is here." Shade said like he's a sort of like a superhero. Oh god! Can't he just stop being like this? I appreciate his concern on me because he thinks that I am his little sister.... BUT I WON'T BE ABLE TO ENJOY MY LIFE IF HE ALWAYS PROTECTS ME!!!

"Oh Yeah? Let's see about that." I just said to cut the conversation. We all line up with the other sections. What would we do again? Are we supposed to get something or do anything? Whatever. Let's just get this done.

The teacher earlier make a ribbon shaped like finish zone using magic.

"Uhh, Shade. Who's that teacher again? I don't know anyone here except our family." I said.

"Ohhh. Yeah. Don't worry, your dearest brother is here. I'll guide you to everything you need to know!" Shade conceitedly said.

" More like,Get me to trouble..." I whispered to myself.

"Hey! I heard you! I'm not always in trouble!" Shade pouted after hearing what I just said. I totally forgot that vampires have strong senses. Hmm. Do they also read minds? I'm safe either way, I know how to block my mind. My Papa Ceive taught me that.

"Ready! Set! Go!" Then the race started. They didn't even explain the mechanics and just started the race. So... What are we supposed to do? Is there any object to get or what?

Every students showed their wands and cast magics then... They used it to hinder their opponent. I also started to run not using my power. I don't really care about the students using their powers but.... A little later I saw them getting each other hurt. They attack each other wildly and sometimes attack me. I was trained by my Dad so I'm quite fast on reacting on instincts. But I really can't believe what I'm seeing! Do they really need to hurt each other knowing that this is only a race? There's no price also in winning this game... Why would they act like enemies...

"C'mon sis. You're too slow!" Shade shouted from the front. I really can't see him anymore but Shade does also had a loud voice... And it's quite natural on him. Ha ha

I was about to answer him but then I saw students having injury and full of blood. Just... What the hell are they doing?? I get my healing potion in my pocket and apply it to every injury of the students who got severly hurt. I unconsciously walked...And then here I am.... Back to the starting line Hehe. It's too far if I start again and try to compete with them so I decided to just wait here until the race end.

After the race, everyone got a break....

"Hey! Why didn't you continue the race? I didn't see you halfway through the battle! I told you to follow me!!" Shade confront me after the race. Well,well,well... My big brother was pissed and putting his anger on me....

Well, I mean who wouldn't? If you just assumed that you win because you were the first one to arrive but then announced you as not qualified to win? No one wins anyway. Every students who got to the finish line was announced as disqualified... I didn't even know why.

"Chill, bro. You're eyes was turning red. And I know your angry because of the contest but don't put your anger on me... Accept the results and be sports. No one wins anyway so... No need to be angry." I tried comforting him. "Besides... The battle was so intense and wild! Everyone's fighting and hurting each other. If I was going to win knowing I get to hurt others just to be the first, I wouldn't be too happy with it."

"Yeah.. I'm sorry for what I just said..." He said when he calmed down. "I must not make this a big deal. No one won this game since this started anyway so there's no reason to be angry."

"Wait...What? Are you serious? All this time... No one won this race?" I got shocked to what he just said.

"Yeah. Really. That's why everyone was desperate to win." He said then sit on the bench.

"Wow! That's insane..." I exclaimed.

"Totally... But who wouldn't? Every student wants to prove their worth. I also want to prove what I'm capable of... But it turns out nothing." Shade suddenly become dramatic.

"Hey! You've already proved what you are capable of. You first got there!" I tried cheering him up.

"But I didn't win... I'm useless. I just always cause trouble to the two clans." Shade said downing himself.

"Yeah. I agree that you always cause trouble but... You're not useless okay? You'll be like my guard right? I thought you will protect me at all cost? You're my brother... Right?" I tried convincing him.

"You... You accept me as your brother? You're not mad at me?" He asked.

"Of course not! I won't be mad at you whatever you do. Even if you cause trouble to this whole world I would still be here for you.... Just... Just don't try to flirt with me again like earlier, That gross!!!" I said to lighten up the mood.

"Oh,men! Don't ever let me remember that! It's embarrassing!" He said after remembering his acts earlier when he first met me.

"Ahahahahaha. C'mon! I even warned you earlier not to flirt with me but you didn't listen. You're really funny that time!" I laugh at him and he just pouted.

Anyway... I'm glad I got him happy again. We even got closer together. And this is my first step on my journey. I wanted to meet and communicate with my family. I want to finally become a part of the family... officially. Though, I mustn't forget that my main goal here.... is to find and protect my twin brother's destined Princess.
