Mark gasped and stepped back in complete surprise, while Nathan’s hand instantly dropped from the door handle as his whole body went rigid, his piercing blue eyes locking onto my face with a look that could have killed me right on the spot. He didn't call for the guards immediately, but the dangerous stance he took told me he was considering throwing me out himself, so I stepped forward before he could speak and crossed my arms, showing him that I wasn't intimidated by his size or his wealth.
