The Beginning of the Journey

1620 Words
The group's journey along the river became quiet. Dan didn't even waste mana intimidating goblins with his fire spells. The vile villains shouted all sorts of nasty things and threw stones at the players. But no one cared about their angry words and threats. Dan set fire to the edge of the forest several times with a fireball. But then the princess asked him not to set fire to the forest. The wind sometimes brought smoke toward the girls and everyone started coughing. After a while, the vampiress began to behave badly. Koreima snorted at everyone like an angry cat. The young man realized that the girl was feeling bad because she hadn't eaten blood. The group stopped and Dan walked over to the river. He stood with his back to the rest of the group and asked Koreima to help him. The clever vampiress knew at once that a pleasant moment had arrived. She walked over to her delicious Dan and took shelter from other people's gazes. The girl stood close to her feeder. Dan pulled out his special box with a knife and a glass for blood. Koreima was already hardly holding herself back. Her eyes glowed red and she looked toward the princess with an unkind look. The vampiress was cursing softly at all kinds of traitors and treaty breakers who don't keep their word. Dan cut his hand and filled the glass with blood. The vampiress snatched the glass and quickly took a sip of blood. The girl closed her eyes and whispered with pleasure. "It deliciously delicious," she continued to drink the blood. The young man looked at her with concern. He knew that there were three sisters and two brothers of the vampiress left in Kor Castle. Now the girl must find new friends. A vampire has a hard time finding pleasure in associating with other nations. Elves, however, also did not get along well with the other nations of the world. Gnomes and mice were busy constantly searching for for-profit and developing their craft, so they went easy on the rest of the townsfolk. Orcs valued any reliable ally. To orcs, all details of the world mattered only in terms of military missions and adventure. Tom explained his point loudly. He cared about the mood of the group. "The world is not looking for your death. If we have a mission it means we are needed and of value to the world. Do not doubt and look forward carefully and with firm confidence. We will find a place where everyone can have the opportunity to come back to life!" The princess didn't understand why she didn't have any special assignments. Elina began to think that she was unwanted and useless to this world. But the sensitive clone noticed any small detail in the behavior of his subordinates. Tom liked to play soldiers. "Elina! Why is there such a sad expression on your face? Have you remembered the pleasant hours of your morning training? Don't worry, you miserable semblance of a clumsy swordsman. I am ready to show you an interesting trick. It has its origins in the homeworld of humans. A very interesting technique that you and I will now test against some fine opponents. The goblins have become too insolent. We'll teach them a lesson!" Tom called the princess over and began to show her a special move that he had learned from a book of Japanese fencing. Algrin listened with interest to the clone's explanations and she was amused because the princess knew the trick well. But Elina suddenly began to behave like an obedient student. She was pleased to feel her mastery and she did not disappoint Tom. He didn't know the skill of short blades at all! The princess was glad that she would soon show this stern and rough creature her skills. The vampiress had eaten and was looking more decent. Her skin had a healthy hue again and Koreima didn't look like a pale, evil sorceress with a bloodshot look. Koreima giggled and mocked the behavior of the three amateurs waving the crude metal. Dhroll and Elina began to strike at the goblins. Tom was always at the princess' side so she wouldn't get too hurt. Now Dhroll was very angry! The deed of the cunning and greedy elf Overlord of the Tower hid the true abilities of powerful monsters from the orc! Dhroll did not often visit difficult dungeons for the skilled masters of the Guild of Adventurers. The guild had strict rules. No one wanted useless weaklings. No one was willing to share loot and fame with young warriors. Dhroll didn't face many level 19 monsters that were as fast as he was. Now the orc had no time to catch up with the fast and nimble goblins. He could kill any vile wretch, but those nasty brats were dodging the ax attacks. The princess did not listen to her mentor's indignant cries. Algrin was displeased, and it seemed to her that Tom was risking the princess's life for nothing. The goblins were clever and suddenly realized that they were being offered an interesting game. Now the nasty mages don't get in the way with their dangerous spells. You could hurt a big clumsy warrior with an ax and take away his weapons! Tom chuckled and saw that Dan was using Earth magic spells to slow the goblins down. Occasionally Dhroll would get a chance to catch up with an opponent and then his ax would inflict quick, horrifying wounds on the unfortunate goblin who was caught by the Slowing spell. The princess needed no help from magic. She was superior to her low opponents in speed and had the perfect opportunity to show off her mastery. The goblins' blows and stones did not disturb the girl. In the corridors of the tower, she received her first lessons in how to endure pain. Elina's sword managed to deliver a few swift blows that quickly destroyed one goblin after another. The entertainment was a heavy load for the warriors. The three brave warriors regained their strength as they paced along the river. Then a squad of daring warriors attacked the goblins that were guarding near the beginning of the forest. Tom and Elina managed to kill several opponents and even Dhroll had a chance to attack the goblins who were very eager to take advantage of the numerical advantage. After a brief battle, the three warriors would return to Dan and the girls. Tom was right when he believed in the soon-to-be-evolved events. The world did not want to destroy the brave young ones who had gone through the trials of the tower to meet their destiny. It was nearing noon and the sun was shining well on the beauty of the place. The weather became fine and the clouds disappeared from the blue sky. The Black Flame group was approaching an unusual place. The first to notice the strange structure was the elven girl who was waiting for her scout to return. "It can't be a bridge," whispered the assassin. She could not believe her eyes. Ahead of her was a strange huge structure that blocked the wide river. Dan heard the girl and looked closely. He wasn't often surprised by all sorts of magical things and wonders of the new world. But this time he got a new unexpected feeling of encountering the impossible. A huge amazing bridge connected the two banks of the river. The river was very wide and the far bank was barely visible even in the bright light of day. But the incredible structure gleamed with metal parts and looked undeniably reliable and a powerful eternal piece of this world. It was more than just a bridge. It was the epitome of all the bridges of the world. "How were the local mages able to create this?" Dan felt admiration for the possibilities of sorcery. "It wasn't created by mages," Algrin clarified with certainty. "The gods created it." Tom did not interfere in the discussion of the merits of the miraculous construction. He was not interested in the local gods and their influence on nations' lives. The clone received help only from the warrior patron. The clone not only respected Ars Obsessed by Battles but often thanked the eternal patron in all seriousness for his support in battle. Tom was well aware that Ars would not spend a drop of his powers to build bridges or palaces. So the warrior calmly considered the marvelous construction and expected to meet those who use such a gift of the gods. Surely the Black Flame group would soon encounter more civilized inhabitants than the savage goblins. The Miraculous Bridge is of undeniable importance to the life of the clever nations. And no one needs the neighborhood of nasty goblins when doing important business. Nature acted as a guardian of order and harmony. The forest gradually receded, and very soon the adventurers were no longer worried about goblin attacks and provocations. This minor problem remained behind them. Ahead, a new and interesting challenge for the newcomers to this world became visible. At the entrance to the bridge, several figures were not behaving like peaceful and civilized citizens. The inhabitants of this world were loudly swearing and insulting their opponents. Several rivals were having duels with weapons. Unpleasant swearing and the ringing of weapons greeted the members of the Black Flame group. Tom gave the command to stop and prepare to negotiate diplomatically. Everyone understood that they had to be prepared for any unpleasant surprises. Several inhabitants of this world moved towards the newcomers. Orc and swordsmen covered the girls who excitedly prepared for battle.
