Walking to the Head Monster

1762 Words
Lord Drarred walked down the corridor of the ancient dungeon next to a young strange mage. The vampire was already convinced that this young human was no warrior. This was a mage in the flesh. There was no desire on Dan Raven's face to engage in combat with members of the vampire clan. He was more interested in the company of a wise and ancient vampire. Dan did not ask any precise questions about the life of the Draco clan. He was not interested in the details of Night Hill politics. This young man made no secret of his desire to know the patriarch's general mood about a long life in this world. The man was interested in such things as the speed of skill restoration and all sorts of silly little things. Soon the lord was surprised to see a new side to the young mage's sorcery. Two strange creatures appeared next to Dan. They seemed very unpleasant. Drarred immediately noticed that the eyes of these short creatures were cunning and regarded him as a victim.  "These are my brave hobbits," Dan explained. "Hello, braves! Your task is to aid our advisor Tom. Phantom." Dan aloud activated a spell and a clone figure appeared beside him. "Two gluttons and lazybones! Follow me quickly! Shoot straight and accurately in the face. Otherwise, your stones will not be able to win my support," the clone quickly made his wishes known and ran forward to raise his sword. The hobbits looked at Den and saw that the master fully supported the advisor's decision. Then the two short creatures drew their weapons and ran forward. Their cheerful voices were heard, which made the ancient vampire grimace. "Very rude and ignorant allies. Is this another summons from your nation?" Drarred wanted to know the details of the mage's new sorcery. "It is part of my Legacy. Weak and strange helpers. They are only good for distracting the enemy. Supporting forces. Strange folk with a peculiar character," Dan smiled. "Lord Drarred, so it took you about seven years to fully recover your powers in this world. That's a monstrous amount of time!" Dan was unhappy that this world was threatening him with too long a recovery period. And he was also unhappy that Tom had managed to convince him to develop magic skills! Tom had developed a sense of responsibility for his friend's life. He managed to persuade Dan and they spent several million experience points to improve the skills of healing and controlling the enemy. Dan understood that restoring health and slowing down was very important. Dealing with a weak opponent was the key to victory. Being able to gain speed is also important for those who dare to upset the balance of attribute distribution. Only a mage can degrade Speed and boost Strength. A mage has the spell Speeding! The mage's game requires constant attention and calculation because he has to constantly monitor his condition and that of his allies.  Tom was strongly against a drastic increase in the patron's skill level. He immediately pointed out to Dan that even a nineteenth skill level does monstrous damage. They have no problem destroying monsters and bosses. First, they have to take care of the possible elimination of a deadly threat. Dan must have excellent healing skills. All monsters and bosses can be handled slowly and quietly. Dan took this point of view and was now in no hurry to take part in the fights. He began summoning hobbits to restore his mana. Lord Drarred saw that the strange young man was using his clone call as his sword. And it was a disgusting way to fight. It was similar to the unpleasant tactics of the elves who preferred to act as Assassins. The clone constantly used invisibility skills and the vampire could smell the elven magic. The patriarch wasn't worried about the local vampires dying under the insidious attacks of the clone. During his centuries-long life, he has killed many children of the Night who dared to provoke his wrath. "Have you no desire at all to test the strength of these wayward children of the Night? Have you no desire to experience the joy of battle?" Drarred grinned and watched the clone kill another vampire. "This is a rather delicate question. It concerns my Legacy," confused Dan. He didn't know how frank he could be with a vampire. Then the young man ventured to reveal some of the property of his skill. "I have no desire to kill my enemies myself. Every destruction of a clone brings me his experience of combat. It's as if I'm in the fight myself. I feel the pain my clone feels. And there is only one thing that worries me. I'm afraid I'm being too bold in front of Mother Death's gaze. Every time I destroy Tom, it's like sending him to his death and rebirth beside me. But I know that rebirth is a delicate moment. Perhaps I am acting too foolishly." Lord Drarred paused. He could not believe this young man's words. Such carelessness stunned him. Vampires had a special relationship with the Lady of Death. Dan also stopped and looked at the patriarch with a sad smile. "Perhaps I am wrong. After all, each nation has its special summoning spells. You summon the Bloody Puppet. You don't bother when you end its existence," Dan remarked. "The Bloody Clone is different! It doesn't have a fraction of the intelligence and character that your assistant has," the vampire replied immediately. He went ahead and confessed to the young man honestly. "I have had a desire for such powerful sorcery. But now I desire nothing to do with him. The daughter of the Kor clan has told many things about your abilities. She is a good girl. But her words were not so accurate when she described your attitude toward the summoning. Vampires should not touch such knowledge. I do not recommend that you give this skill to your beloved. It could ruin her." Dan nodded his head. He didn't want to share this skill. He didn't know how to do it. Any requirement to pass on the skill was about his perfection as a mage. Only a mage could deeply comprehend any mode of witchcraft and create his spell. Then the mage could teach that spell to other mages. Dan had no desire to practice magic. He treated it as a useful and powerful tool. "Thank you for your wisdom. I will remember your words because they please me and cause me to agree," Dan smiled. "Can you tell me why mice are so secretive? It's a strange tribe. They made a strong impression on me at Grossroads. I'm worried. Now my stay in the Community is closely tied to the activities of these folk. No mysteries or secrets! I'm just interested in your superficial opinion." The ancient patriarch began to talk about mice. The two interlocutors walked slowly forward. They caught a particular pace of advancement. It was the leisurely gait of two quiet interlocutors. The clone kept appearing nearby and silently running forward to destroy the next vampire. Occasionally Tom would interfere with the conversation, and at some moment Lord Drarred realized an unnatural thing. This clone could hear the conversation perfectly. This phantom's consciousness is so powerful that it manages to fight the vampires and closely follow the conversation. And this clone remembers everything after he is reborn! The lord shook his head and thought that knowledge about this strange young person would be a great treasure in the future. Knowing such information would benefit him. Dan was glad to learn about the new world from such an interesting person. He stopped being upset about the modest experience he was getting in this dungeon. Each vampire brought only 1600 experience points. It takes fifteen million experience points to raise a skill from level nineteen to thirty-nine. Tom needs to kill almost nine and a half thousand monsters to raise the Rage of Ars skill to level thirty-nine. On the other hand, that amount of monsters killed is enough to develop all of his friends' fighting skills! You can see a nice moment in everything. The pleasant moment was the end of the long journey through the corridors of this dungeon.  They had come a long way that had already lasted more than twenty hours. Dan did not feel tired. He felt genuinely delighted by the knowledge and memories of the ancient vampire. The group stopped a couple of times to refresh themselves. Dan ate the usual food he bought at the Cozy Burrow establishment. Lord Drarred was not shy and drank blood from his supply. The young man did not embarrass the old vampire and did not allow the hobbits to participate in the banquet. These merrymakers made the vampire nervous with their loose and easygoing behavior. During the dungeon, Tom destroyed 375 vampires. That's enough experience to raise the Rage of Ars skill level to level 22. But Dan was in no hurry to develop the attack skill. Tom asked him to take his time and look at the power of the Head Vampire in that underground castle. The head vampire impressed all the participants in the adventure. At one moment the corridor ended in a large underground hall. Along the sidewalls of the large room were pillars on which shone magical lights. The walls were not decorated and had no windows. The familiar blur of the portal was visible in the distance and the tall figure of the guard occupied the attention of all the adventurers. The vampire patriarch was not tall. He was an ordinary tall vampire who didn't look like a monster with a huge stature and increased physique. The tall and sturdy figure froze in the distance. The vampire's face was very pale but was not completely white and bloodless. The short hair was silvered with gray. The bright light of the scarlet eyes stared past the observers. Dan felt that he once again felt sympathy for another boss who would undoubtedly die from his friend's attacks.   [Patriarch of Vampires.  Big Boss. Level: 40. Life: 10000. Damage: 850-1450.  Defense: 285. Skills:  Blood Reaper. Applying the skill adds +1000 points of damage to the attack. Increases attack power by 250%.  Cooldown: 2 minutes. Thirst of the Patriarch.
