Jessica’s laughter echoed softly in the bedroom as she slid out of bed, careful not to wake Alvaro. Armando had cleaned up the breakfast tray, but she could still feel the warmth of his care lingering in the air. She stretched, her body still weary from the night before. “I’ll just freshen up,” she murmured, giving Armando a quick smile as he stood by the crib, straightening Alvaro’s blanket. “Take it slow,” he said, watching her every move.
