A few hours after the incident in the human world: ***************************************** Ravenna lay on the ground, her body growing cold. "Someone call an ambulance!" her aunt screamed, rushing to Ravenna's side. Her uncle quickly pulled out his phone and dialed the emergency number. "Yes, we need an ambulance at the pierce residence immediately! My niece has been injured!" The room erupted into chaos as the guests scrambled to get out of the way. Miranda cradled her head in her lap, tears streaming down her face. "Ravenna, stay with me! Don't leave me!" Miranda begged. The sound of sirens echoed outside, growing louder as the ambulance screeched to a halt outside the house, and paramedics rushed in to attend to Ravenna. They quickly assessed her condition, their faces grim. "We need to get her to the hospital now!" one of them shouted. Ravenna's aunt and uncle watched as the paramedics rushed Ravenna out of the mansion, the ambulance speeding away with sirens blaring. As the guests began to disperse, Ravenna's aunt turned to her uncle, her eyes filled with tears. "What have we done?" she whispered. Dimitri's eyes widened in horror as he watched Ravenna's half lifeless body being rushed out of the wedding. His parents, Viktor and Natalia, stood frozen in shock, their faces pale and worried. They had been present during the ceremony, beaming with pride as their son exchanged vows with Ravenna. Natalia rushed to Dimitri's side, her eyes fixed on the spot where Ravenna had fallen. "Oh no, this is terrible," she whispered, her hands flying to her mouth. Dimitri shook his head, still trying to process the scene before him. "One minute, we were exchanging vows, and the next,...and the next, she stabbed herself." He didn't love Ravenna, but he couldn't help but feel sorry for her. As soon as the ambulance sped away, Ravenna's uncle, aunt, and their children drove to the hospital. the silence in the car was palpable. Miranda stared out the window, her eyes welling up with tears. She couldn't believe what had just happened to her cousin. Ravenna's aunt tried to comfort her, putting a reassuring hand on her shoulder. "We'll get to the hospital, and the doctors will take care of Ravenna," she said softly. But despite her mom's words, Miranda couldn't litsen. What if Ravenna didn't make it. The questions swirled in her mind, making her feel anxious and scared. She wanted to know that her cousin was going to be okay. The doctors and nurses in haste's so they could attend to Ravenna. After a few hours , Dr. Lee entered the waiting room, his face somber and expressionless. Lucas, Victoria, and Miranda stood up, their eyes fixed on the doctor. "Dr. , what's the update?" Lucas asked, his voice firm but laced with a hint of concern. He stepped forward, his eyes narrowing slightly as he awaited the doctor's response. Dr. Lee cleared his throat before speaking, "I'm afraid Ravenna's condition has taken a turn for the worse. Miranda gasped, her hand flying to her mouth. Her eyes widened in horror as she stumbled backward, her face pale. Victoria's eyes narrowed, her expression unreadable. She stood frozen, her arms crossed over her chest. Lucas's face turned red with anger, his jaw clenched in frustration. "What do you mean?" Lucas demanded, his voice rising. Dr. Lee hesitated before responding, choosing his words carefully. "The knife wound Ravenna sustained was extremely deep, penetrating several inches into her stomach. We've done everything we can to repair the damage, but the next few days will be crucial in determining her outcome." Ravenna's aunt gasped, "Is she...is she going to be okay?" she stammered. The doctor hesitated, his eyes filled with compassion. "I'm afraid it's too early to say for certain. Ravenna is in critical condition, and we're doing everything we can to stabilize her. However, the severity of her injuries means that she's at high risk for complications, including infection and organ failure." The doctor's expression turned grave. "Ravenna's brain activity is currently minimal, and we're not sure when or if she'll regain consciousness. It's possible that she could remain in a coma for days, weeks, or even months. We just don't know at this point." Ravenna's uncle slumped forward, his head in his hands. "This can't be happening," he whispered. The doctor placed a hand on his shoulder. "I know this is a lot to take in, but we're doing everything we can to save Ravenna's life. We'll need to monitor her closely over the next few days and weeks to determine the best course of treatment." At that moment, Miranda's eyes blazed with anger and tears as she turned to face her parents, Lucas and Victoria. It's....it's all your fault..."she spat." You've always been so cruel to her, so heartless. And now look what's happened!" "You've always made Ravenna feel like she's worthless, like she's nothing," Miranda continued, her words pouring out in a torrent. "You've belittled her, mocked her, and hurt her. And now she's lying in that bed, fighting for her life all because of a decision you made to fit you both needs, not even caring about her decisions or her feelings." Miranda's voice cracked as she spoke, but she refused to back down. She was determined to make her parents see the harm they had caused. She remembered all the times Ravenna had come to her, crying and hurt. Litsen to me, mom, dad!... "If anything happens to Ravenna, I would make sure that you all never hear from me again!" "We're sorry, Miranda," Lucas said, his voice barely above a whisper. "We didn't mean to hurt Ravenna. We just..." "No, you didn't mean to hurt her," Miranda said, her eyes flashing with anger. "You just didn't care." Miranda turned her back on them and walked away as she made her way to the hospital chapel, seeking solace in the quiet, peaceful space. She sat down, her eyes fixed on the cross above the altar. Tears streamed down Miranda's face as she prayed for Ravenna's recovery before she headed back to the waiting room. Her sisters didn't even care if Ravenna would recover from her coma or not. Not to talk of Dimitri Santiago, her supposed to be husband. Just at that moment, Dimitri burst into the hospital with his family in tow. Of course!... Here he is. "Miranda said." They had been at the wedding ceremony just hours before, when Ravenna had attempted to take her own life. Dimitri's family had been shocked and horrified by the incident. "Where have you been?" Miranda demanded, her voice sharp with anger. "Ravenna's been lying here for hours." "We came as soon as we could, I was just in shock about how the whole event played out," Dimitri said, his voice defensive. Miranda's expression didn't soften. "You were in shock?" she repeated. "You were the ones who arranged this marriage, who pushed Ravenna into a life she didn't want. And now, you're acting like you're the victims?" Lucas, Miranda's father, stepped forward, his face reddening with anger. "Miranda, that's enough," he growled, his voice low and menacing. "You have no right to speak to Dimitri like that." Victoria, Lucas's wife, placed a hand on Miranda's arm, her grip tightening. "Miranda, dear, please," she said, her voice sugary sweet. "Let's not make a scene. We're all worried about Ravenna." Miranda shook off Victoria's grip, her eyes flashing with anger. "I won't apologize for telling the truth," she said, her voice firm. "Miranda, you will respect Dimitri and his family," he thundered. Dimitri's anger flared, but he pushed it aside, his concern for Ravenna taking over. "Enough, Miranda," he cut her off, his voice firm but controlled. "How is Ravenna? What did the doctors say?" Lucas's expression softened slightly as he turned to Dimitri. "The doctors said that Ravenna is in a coma," he said, his voice grave. "What...what can we do?" Dimitri asked, Lucas shook his head. "All we can do is wait and pray," he said. "The doctors are doing everything they can, but it's up to Ravenna to fight now." The room fell silent, with only the sound of the hospital machines beeping in the background. Miranda's expression turned skeptical. "You want to help?..."You should stay away from here," she spat. "Ravenna doesn't need you right now." Lucas's face turned red with rage, and he took a step forward, his hand raised. "How could you, Miranda?" "he thundered," before slapping her across the face. Miranda's head snapped back, and she stumbled backward, her eyes welling up with tears. Dimitri's eyes widened in shock, and he took a step forward as if to intervene. But Lucas's anger was not spent. "You will not speak to Dimitri like that," he growled, his voice low and menacing. "And you will treat him with respect." The tension in the room was palpable, and Dimitri knew that it was time to leave. "We'll go," he said, his voice firm. "We don't want to cause any more troubles." His parents nodded in agreement, and they turned to leave.
