JOSIE Jake just answered the door wearing nothing but a towel. Left behind by a mischievously chuckling Cynthia, I hesitate inside with him; he shuts the door and locks it and turns to me with a smile. It takes all my willpower to look up at his face. Not at his powerful chest, still gleaming and fragrant from his shower. Not his beautifully inked and sculpted arms. I manage to speak after a moment. “That was awesome. Thank you for inviting me,” I almost squeak. He smiles softly. “I wanted you to see what I do when I’m not rescuing adorable young ladies from smelly assholes.” He’s making no attempt to move toward the bathroom as I walk toward the couch; instead, he follows me, close enough behind that I can feel the warmth rolling off of him. “It was amazing. Are you okay after that?”
