Chapter 1

CARTER

"Carter, seriously what are we going to do when we both go to the Alpha Training Games next month?" I heard my brother Camden ask me while I was in the middle of daydreaming about my date with Kyra later.

Camden and I are identical twins! We are the heirs to the Western Moon Pack. As you may be wondering we are future alphas meaning we are werewolves of course. We will eventually become co-alphas of the Western Moon Pack which is just over 3000 acres just shy of a small human town outside of Texas. Our parents the current alpha Asher and luna Michelle did an amazing job at upgrading our pack over the years.

Growing up here has been amazing. Camden and I had a lot of friends. Of course, being the alpha children everyone wants to be your friends but we only have a small group of best friends and people we'd trust our life with. Trusting someone with your life is important as an alpha because your beta and gamma are there to protect you and help you. Usually, in pacts the current families stay in the lineup for the alpha, beta and gamma positions unless another pack member challenges the current position holder and wins.

In our pack, we had the same family lineup for many years. This rein tho I'm hoping the betas daughter Kyra is my fated mate. She would then step into the Luna position instead which would require us to find another member suitable for the beta position. Fated mates are important to secure the fates of our packs. Once a werewolf turns 18 we get to scent out our mates and as identical twins there is a chance we would share a mate. We share EVERYTHING anyway so that doesn't really scare us.

Kyra on the other hand is my girlfriend. She is the most beautiful girl I've ever had the pleasure of meeting with her tall tanned legs, olive skin, beautiful green eyes and the most gorgeous light red curly hair. The curls lay down her back and frame her face she's memorizing. We've been dating for two years now. We grew up together so we were best friends forever and our relationship just progressed from there.

Camden never showed much interest in Kyra even though we knew there was a possibility of us having the same mate and was seeing her older sister Abbie from time to time. Abbie was the opposite of Kyra but still beautiful in her own way. She was on the shorter side, a bit curvy, with short dark brown hair and her eyes were also green but not bright like her sisters.. Kyra and I agreed that we'd wait before having intercourse to know if we were fated mates. Camden on the other hand didn't really mind not waiting and Kyra and I walked in to find him and Abbie in the middle of the act knowing Abbie has yet to find her mate even though she's 19.

As future alphas of the Western Moon Pack we leave at the end of the month to head to the Cosmic Life Pack to compete in the training camp games before we turn 18. Two days after we return home will be out 18th birthday. I wanted to plan a special date for Kyra in hopes that she's my mate. We talked about what would happen if we werent fated mates but I don't want to think about the possibility of losing Kyra yet.

We kept our alpha status a secret from the pack of who will be taking over as the next alpha of the pack. It's not common to have to alphas but as identical twins we are allowed to rein together. Some people think I'm better suited and some think Camden is so they will be in for the shock of their life to find out we intend to rule together. Our parents thought it best as kept this secret for now because then we'd have less drama in the female department trying to get their Luna titles.

Camden

I noticed my brother zoned out when I asked him the question about alpha training camp. I know people only expect one of us to become alpha but when they asked our parents told them we were both going and training so we'd both have scores as to what we excell in and where we need to improve you never know when you need a second alpha to take over the pack.

My brother's been in love with Kyra for as long as I can remember I mean she's beautiful and everything but I've been seeing her sister. I knew Abbie wasn't my fated mate but she hasn't met hers yet and with us going to be going away for training we figured why not get it out of the way! unfortunately, Kyra and Carter walked in on us and with the way Kyra looked at me even if she was ours or my fated mate it's probably a good possibility she'd reject the bond.

Both me and Carter came to the conclusion a long time ago that if we had the same mate she had the choice to accept or reject us both but it was all or nothing no one can be accepted while ones rejected and rule the way we need to. We won't reject our fated mate because our parents told us how important they are to the pack and how chosen mates aren't as strong. My brother may not think so but I really do look forward to meeting my luna and my mate.

Looking at Carter I tell him "You know brother, I do want to meet my mate and luna. If it happens to be Kyra I feel like she'll reject me because of the whole Abbie thing. If she rejects me that means she also rejects you and I know that would crush you. So before we leave for camp I promise I won't see anyone else. I think we should meet up and talk to Kyra and see how she feels. She'll be turning 18 shortly after we leave for camp so maybe she'll find her mate before we come back!"

Carter thinks about that with a sorrow look in his eyes before replying, "maybe I should text her and see if she's willing to meet with the both of us tonight? I already have a date planned with her but see if she's okay with you tagging along so we can all clear the air?"

CARTER GETS HIS PHONE OUT TO TEXT KYRA!

C- Hello beautiful. Can't wait for our date tonight!

K- Hello handsome. So excited to see you tonight. I miss you!

C- I miss you baby. So I know it was a date for us tonight but I think we got a lot to discuss about the next few weeks. Do you mind if Cam joins us for a while so we can all chat?

K- I was looking forward to having you to myself for a while tonight but I guess he can come alone. As long as I get boyfriend time when we're done talking with him! :)

C- of course pretty girl. I'm all yours after dinner we'll go to the movie theater and I'll buy your favorite snacks! :)

K- sounds like a plan. See you both soon. Love you!

C- love you baby.

A few hours later we leave to meet Kyra for our date!
