The morning sun shone brightly over the magnificent St. Claire Cathedral. White roses decorated every corner, while hundreds of distinguished guests filled the pews.
Today was supposed to be the happiest day of Isabella Hart's life.
She stood in the bridal room, dressed in a breathtaking white wedding gown that sparkled like diamonds. Her heart raced with excitement.
After three years of love, she was finally marrying Damien Knight—the man who had promised to love her forever.
"You look like an angel," Sophie, her best friend, said with a smile.
Isabella laughed softly.
"Do you think Damien will cry when he sees me?"
"He'll probably forget how to breathe."
Both women laughed.
Outside, expensive luxury cars lined the cathedral entrance. Reporters eagerly waited, hoping to capture the wedding of the year.
The Hart family...
The Knight family...
Two of the wealthiest families in the country were about to become one.
The church doors opened.
The wedding music began.
Holding her father's arm, Isabella slowly walked down the aisle.
Her eyes searched for Damien.
But the smile on her face slowly disappeared.
He wasn't smiling.
His face was cold...
His eyes were filled with disappointment.
A strange fear settled in her heart.
When she finally reached the altar, she smiled nervously.
"Damien..."
Instead of taking her hand...
He took one step backward.
The church fell silent.
Confused whispers spread among the guests.
"What are you doing?" Isabella asked quietly.
Damien stared at her with disgust.
"I should be asking you that."
Her smile faded.
"I don't understand."
Without saying another word, Damien pulled a thick brown envelope from his pocket.
He opened it...
Then threw dozens of photographs into the air.
They fluttered across the church like falling leaves.
The guests picked them up.
Gasps echoed everywhere.
"Oh my God..."
"She cheated?"
"How shameless!"
Isabella quickly picked up one of the photographs.
Her hands began to shake.
The woman in the picture looked exactly like her...
Locked in a passionate embrace with another man outside a hotel.
"No..."
Her voice trembled.
"This isn't me."
"It's fake!"
Damien laughed bitterly.
"You're still lying?"
"I've never seen these photos before!" Isabella cried.
Before she could explain further...
A gentle voice interrupted.
"It hurts me to say this..."
Everyone turned.
Victoria Stone.
Isabella's stepsister.
Victoria walked forward, tears streaming down her face.
"I saw Isabella leave that hotel with another man."
The church exploded with whispers.
"No!" Isabella shouted.
"She's lying!"
Damien's fists tightened.
"I trusted you."
"I love only you!" Isabella sobbed.
"Enough."
He slowly removed the diamond engagement ring from his finger.
Time seemed to stop.
With one cold movement...
He threw the ring onto the marble floor.
The loud metallic sound echoed through the cathedral.
"Our wedding is over."
A wave of shock swept through the crowd.
Cameras flashed.
Reporters rushed closer.
Isabella's knees weakened.
She turned desperately toward her father.
"Dad... please..."
"You know I would never do this."
Charles Hart looked at her with disappointment.
"You have brought shame to this family."
Those words pierced her heart more deeply than any knife.
Even her father...
Didn't believe her.
One by one...
Family members looked away.
Friends whispered behind her back.
The guests watched as if she were a criminal.
Isabella bent down slowly and picked up the engagement ring.
Tears rolled silently down her cheeks.
She looked directly into Damien's eyes.
Then at Victoria.
Then at everyone who had judged her without listening.
Her voice became calm...
Almost frighteningly calm.
"You rejected me today."
She tightened her grip on the ring.
"I won't beg."
"I won't cry forever."
"But remember this day..."
"Because one day..."
"I will return."
"And when I do..."
"Every single person who destroyed my life..."
"Will regret it."
Without another word...
Isabella turned around and walked out of the cathedral.
Behind her, the heavy church doors closed with a thunderous boom.
Outside, dark clouds gathered.
Rain began to fall.
She walked alone...
Broken...
Homeless...
With nowhere to go.
Suddenly...
A long black Rolls-Royce stopped beside her.
The back window slowly rolled down.
An elderly man wearing an expensive suit looked at her with tearful eyes.
Then he spoke words that changed her life forever.
"Miss Isabella Hart... I've spent twenty-three years searching for you."
