Maya led Adrian down narrow alleyways and into forgotten corners of the city, places hidden from the public eye. She seemed to know exactly where she was going, as if the city had secrets she had uncovered long ago. As they approached a seemingly ordinary building, Maya stopped collecting a large number of memories as she look around her environment with suspision and curiosity.
“This is where the final clue is,” she said softly.
Adrian looked around, feeling a sense of unease settle in his chest. “What do you mean? What’s here?”
Maya turned to him, her expression serious. “This is where your grandfather hid the last piece of the puzzle. And it’s where we’ll find the truth about the map.”
The door creaked open as Maya pushed it, revealing a dusty interior filled with old books, papers, and relics. Everything seemed untouched, out of time, forgotten, frozen in time and contain spider webs all over it. Adrian could feel his pulse quicken as they ventured deeper into the room.
“Are you ready for this?” Maya asked, her voice tense.
Adrian nodded, his heart racing. There was no going back now they were already a long way into this adventure.
