The crinkled map sat on the table between them, its yellowed edges barely holding together under Maya’s trembling fingers. Adrian couldn’t help but feel a shiver of unease as he studied the map. It was strange—more like an artifact than something that belonged in the modern world. And then there were the markings, the symbols, and the locations that seemed to be carefully hidden. “What is this?” Adrian asked, his voice hoarse. “What does it mean?” Maya’s eyes were filled with a quiet intensity. “This map is the key, Adrian. It leads to something hidden, something that has been concealed for centuries. People who have sought this place—this location—have disappeared. Some have died, others have simply vanished without a trace.” Adrian’s stomach twisted. He had heard the rumors of missing persons, the unsolved cases that had made headlines. But he had never imagined they were connected to something like this. “You’re telling me that people are disappearing because of this map?” Adrian asked, barely able to wrap his mind around the idea. Maya nodded. “It’s more than a map, Adrian. It’s a warning. And it’s a race to find something that could change everything.”
