Untamed fire

Long walk through town

I allow him to continue to hold my hand in his as we walk down the hall towards the entrance. The heat coming from our contact was so calming, I didn't want it to end and could tell he did not either. We pass the painting that originally captured my attention and realize the Dustin painted is far different for the Dustin leading me to a secret place. The painting is more collected, calm, and mature, where as the one holding my hand is emotional, demanding, and hot headed. How could one person be so different from their past selves? We begin to descend the stairs and approach the main door. "I have to warn you..." He pauses to turn and look me in the eyes. "My people are going to react to you differently now that I am with you. There might be gossip as well. So be prepared." I simply nod and he lets me hand go, much to my disappointment, and reaches for the door. Once open I notice the sun has begun to set and fall behind the ocean of trees. I hear howls and paws hitting the earth in the distance. "It will probably be night once we reach the location since we will be going on foot. It would be much faster to run as my wolf, but that would ruin our deal." He sighs . "I like long walks. It can allow us more time to learn about each other and our worlds." I replied. I still plan on revealing as little as possible, but I still need to learn more about this place and these creatures before I am to return home. Suddenly it dawns on me. How much time have I spent here? It clearly has been half a day here. How much time has passed at home? Did the jewelry fail at returning me? "Dustin?" He looks at me, slightly smiling. "Yes?" He asks gently. "How does time move here?" He rubs the back of his neck. "That isn't an easy question to answer since I have never experienced your movement of time. Here we work on 24 hours and it is based on how the sun moves around our world. Right now it is..." He pauses and looks at a small black circle on his wrist. "7:23pm in the evening. that is why the sun has almost completely gone down." I loo at him more confused and lost than before. Does this world move slower or faster than ours? "Do you know what time it was when I arrived?" He tilts his head slightly as if lost in thought. "Maybe an hour passed since you walked into my office. Ill say it was probably 6pm when my men found you at the river." I simply nod. Hopefully this helps me track the time difference if I ever make it back home. "Let us go then, I am still curious on your other form." I start to walk down the street as he trotted slightly to walk by my side. "You don't know where to go Safire. Let me lead." He takes my hand again and the heat takes over me again. I sigh calmly at the contact. as he takes us down a side road towards the forest. This road is surrounded by houses of different sizes, but all similar in style. I can see women whispering among themselves as we slowly walk down the road and men giving Dustin a smirk and laughing among themselves. To me they look like foolish children,but it was clear something about their actions was bothering Dustin as he slightly quickens his pace. I decide to listen in on the conversations from the people talking around us as we walk. "Do you think she is another one of the Alphas w****s?" "She doesn't have a scent." "She isn't even that pretty." "Look at her acting all high and mighty cause she f@*#ed the Alpha." "DO you think she is trying to steal the Luna title" "I heard she was found in the woods playing with herself." I shake my head in disappointment at the jealousy of the women. "Damn, she is sexy." "Do you think the Alpha will let me have her when he is done." "Not a chance, she is to fine to give up." "Bet she knows how to please a man." I quickly stop listening to the men and their disgusting comments. Dustin stayed quiet, staring at the road ahead. "How can you let your people talk about you like that or the woman you call your mate?" He stops dead i his tracks. "Your right..." He spins around quickly, puffs his chest, throws back his head, and lets out a long angry howl. Everyone on the street goes quiet. Doors of the houses open and a crowd starts to gather on both ends of the street. "Listen up! This woman..." He takes my hand and lifts it in the air. "IS MY MATE AND YOUR LUNA!" He shouts, his voice full of rage. "I DEMAND YOU RESPECT HER AND ME AS YOUR ALPHA COUPLE!" He glares into every set of eyes her could before someone spoke. "Why cant we smell her then?" One of the women from earlier step out of the crowd, arms folded at her chest. "She is masking her sent as she was born from a rouge and does not yell feel safe being on pack lands. She does not yet wear my mark as I just found her a few hours ago and she has not yet agreed to stay and run the Moon Dust pack by my side. We are heading for a walk away from the pack to make her more comfortable and to learn about each other." The pack seemed satisfied with his answer and bowed one by one. All except the one woman had their heads down in respect. Dustin let out a low growl towards the woman. She took a step back and very slowly bowed her head All at once the pack suddenly called out "YES ALPHA AND LUNA!" I look around at everyone. Is this how they treat their royalty? They are so obedient and respectful when put in their place. I am excited to see that Dustin does have the power to control his people. "You are dismissed." He stated before taking my hand and continuing to lead me down the road. The wolves began to disperse and make a path for us to walk down without having to push our ways through. I could feel Dustin's frustration by the way he held my hand tightly. I decide it would be best to follow quietly and let him calm down before I start a new conversation. I take a mental note at how easy it is to upset him if he feels I am not being respected. That could be useful if I make an enemy who I need eliminated. We continue our walk in silence as the building become less and the forest creeps closer.
