Trust

I walk with Dustin back to his pack as the air is thick with the scent of blood. They harmed so many of their own over one female. One Alpha lost his composer and several lives paid for it. I look down at my hand and see Dustin still holding it tight. He hasn't seemed to notice the increase of my power since I left moments ago. How much time has passed in the few hours that I was gone? "Dustin?" He pauses and looks at me with worry as if I am going to disappear again. "How long was I away?" He sighs, realizing that I do not under stand the time flow. " Almost a week. I haven't returned to the pack since you left. I... We couldn't stop looking for you." I simply nod and motion for him to continue the walk. Ruling two worlds will be difficult if it means leaving this one for days just to go home for a few hours. Maybe I will move some of the guards here to keep the peace in my place. As we get closer to the pack I hear howls and the sound of many large paws hitting the earth. Dustin tries to move me behind his back to protect me but I refuse and move further to his side. We are suddenly surrounded by several wolves, at least a dozen. Dustin looks at them with confusion and disappointment. "SHIFT!" HE yells and all the wolves become fully human and fully nude in a matter of seconds. "Explain why you charged at me and your Luna." All the wolves are wide eyes and bow. I remember the one in front of them as one of the men who found me as Marcus. "Alpha, we sensed a being of great power and thought you were in danger. We did not think such power belonged to our Luna. It has become even more clear why you were so desperate to find her." He looks to me and bows. "Welcome home Luna, we are glad to find you unharmed. We are sorry if we scared you." He finished and bowed further, not lifting his head until told to. Even a wolf can sense I deserve respect. I look at Dustin and notice that he is looking me up and down. He is noticing my power for the first time. "You have released your power?" He sounds in disbelief. "Of course I did. If I am going to be a ruler here, all member of your kind need to know who I am and what I can do." I face the pack leaving Dustin stunned. "Pack members, as you may have noticed I am not a wolf like you. I am a witch with more power than you can imagine. I will not harm you or your kind, but will bring you peace as your leader and ruler." I received howls which I take as approval. My statement was true. I do plan on bring peace and no harm to them. Just not as a bride to an Alpha who is unable to even control himself. This will be easier than I thought. If they trust me so blindly as to believe I am a witch and to think I will serve them as a Luna, then gaining control of their whole kind can be done in a week or less. I will just need to bring some fire power with me in the future to keep any trouble making Alphas in line. I can be everywhere all the time. I feel Dustin grab my hand as if to hold me back. "Return home everyone. I would like more time with my Luna before returning home." As quick as they came, they were gone. Dustin roughly turns me towards him and anger clear on his face. "Why did you lie to our pack? How can they trust you if you can not be honest about yourself?" I feel the urge to tell him the truth and look at my gem to see it fading. I quickly back up from Dustin's grasp and make a small flame into my hand where I have the gem sealed. I see his eyes flash as I heat my comb. I quickly regains its color and the metal is red hot. "That is one way to avoid the question... What was that?" I quickly think of a lie. "It is to keep the return portal from opening. When the gems color fades I need to send a signal home so they do not force me back like last time." He slowly walks to me. "Is that what happened? Is that why you were in pain." I force some tears into my eyes, but do not let them fall. "Yes, I did not want to leave, but my time for my scouting was over and they were worried I couldn't come back on my own. It hurt cause I was fighting to stay here.... with you." I place my hand on his cheek. It wasn't a whole lie, I didn't want to leave, but the bond was the reason for that. "And I lied to the pack because I don't trust them to keep my secret. They are to many and with the other packs after you now they might you me against you in some way." His eyes soften and he slightly melts under my slight touch. "I understand your fear and caution. You don't have to lie to them, but I wont make you tell them everything until you are comfortable enough with everyone. Come, lets go home." He takes my hand and continues to guide me to the pack. I cant help but smirk behind his back. This is going to be much easier than I thought.
