Meeting Alpha

941 Words
The building here are complete different from the stone buildings and castles I am used to. They look as if they are not built to withstand a war at all. Does this place live in the peace I am trying to achieve? The roads are made of a large black stone and the pathways made of small stone in a intricate pattern. They have lights on posts every fee meters and strange red cylinders in random placed along the roads. All of the people here we have passed by smell of animal just has the 4 men who "rescued" me do. I try to remember the old stories of other beasts and humans, but failed. Suddenly a hand appears on my shoulder. "Relax alittle. No one here bites. They just haven't seen an outsider in a while and they are trying to figure out what's happening." Marcus smirks as Jacob continues to lead us down the main road. "We are almost to our leaders house. Don't let the size worry you." I look at him confused until out of the corner of my eye I see a small castle appear from behind the hill. Is this Alpha a lord or lady of this land? He is clearly no King or Queen as you could fix 5 of these in my own castle. Or could he have meant he chooses to live in a smaller home to appear humble or to better provide his people with aid? I am lost in thought again and before I realized we are at the main door. "Just follow us. He is already expecting us, but we want to make sure nothing unexpected happens." Marcus and the others walk in and I follow closely behind. Their is a large stairway in the middle of the entry way with halls to either side of it. I follow the men upstairs an to the right, noticing large paints hanging from the walls. I stopped at one painting half way down the hall. A man was painted sitting in a large wooden chair. His green eyes seemed lonely yet a forced smile was painted. He wore a black suit which was the same onix as his hair. His faced was perfectly sculpted and made my heart skip a beat. I couldn't help but get lost in those sad lonely eyes. "Hey!" Marcus snapped me out of my trance. "I'm sorry, I was just admiring this lovely painting. It has so much emotion." I say as my eyes drift across the mans face one more time. "Try not to get to distracted. We are almost to our leaders office." He has that smirk again. I nod and follow to the last door at the end of the hall. It is a large double wooden door that has details carved in. I noticed 2 wolves carved into the doors.one on each side facing each other as if ready to attack. Marcus knocks on the door and slowly opened it leading the men and finally me in. I stand behind them as the 4 of them stand in front of the desk and bow slightly. "Sir, we have the woman we told you about." Announces Marcus in a very serious tone. When could they have notified him about me. I never saw a messenger of any kind. "Present her." His voice was rough and strong. I could feel my womanhood melt at just those 2 words. I slowly step in front of the desk and am immediately lost in the same lonely green eyes as the painting and he is clearly lost in mine. I feel my heart rate increases and my fire increase in heat. I'm glad I casted my spell to hide my power. I would have given away my true self with the reaction I am having to this man. Suddenly it occurred to me. "MATE!" I hear him say, almost growl as he jumped over the desk to be right in front of me. He brings his hand to my cheek and slowly, softly brushes the back against my skin. I feel the flames and heat from where he touched and purred on instinct. He could feel something too as he closed his eyes. "I can't believe I finally found you." He says ever so softy. I try to remain silent as I know if I speak I will give away what I am. He looks me dead in the eyes. "Can you speak? I wish to hear your voice." I nod and carefully plan out my next sentence. I should continue to act a fool. "I am Safire. May I ask who you are and what is a mate?" I say as a slightly bow. His cheeks turn red. "My name is Dustin and... the rest will be difficult to explain. I didn't realize you weren't like us. I do know you aren't human, so you will have to explain yourself as well." He says rubbing the back of his neck and then taking a serious stance. Clever boy, no wonder he is my destined one. "We can talk in private then. We have much to discuss." My voice became its regale self instead of the meek girl I was pretending to be. I could see him react to it. He waves his hand and the 4 men leave, confusion written on their faces. "Have a seat then." He pulls out a chair from the front of his desk for me to sit in and takes his seat behind the desk. I can tell he is used to being in charge. This is going to be fun.
