Chapter 1 - The Celestial World

Dimensions  It is the measurement between where I am seating right now up to where Spike is, the cutest and loving golden retriever of my life. So as the gap between the hours I spent in my room thinking about this silly things and the time Nuri spent wildly in the “all-time-ruined-kitchen” cooking anything that comes in her mind. Even the life of a lice which we don’t actually know if they were ever aware of the world outside a person or an animals’ scalp and/or hair. And us humans who were always curious of the possibility of other living terrestrials outside our planet or the other universe. But the most controversial of all Dimensions is what we commonly known as The Other World. Worlds unseen by our human eyes, untouched by our human feet, unfelt by our human senses and unknown by our human consciousness. A World we couldn’t imagine ever existed. And I, Cassandra Harris, woken up one day entangled by that Dimension. They called it, The Celestial World. **********                               The Celestial World “Come on down now Sandy”. Cassandra’s mother encouragingly summons her daughter down to eat. “Else you will not be able to catch the first taste of Nuri’s specialty today” “Yeah, this sucks when it gets cold”. Nuri added, “Stop being a melodramatic introvert and come down now or I’ll drag your hair down here”. She and Mrs. Harris exchange troubled look in getting no response above. They both read their minds and fly to Sandy’s empty room. ********* The breeze by the shore is extraordinarily satisfying her haunted mind & soul. She knows what everyone is showing her is real, that they’re all genuine, for she felt it in her bones. Yet, why does she still feels this bizarre feeling that everyone around her is hiding something from her. That obscure sensation of being held captive by an excruciating pain of hidden truth. This is the only way she felt actually half alive, the smell of the ocean and sound of the playful waves gives her jot of idea that she is living. And of course, Her dog. SIGH Spike gave her a look of a human who’s anxiously questioning her for the things that are haunting her. “Oh please don’t look at me like that. No not you too” she caress the dogs head and continue enjoying her taste of freedom. Spike made a noise that says, you disobey your family AGAIN! “Why? It is so suffocating staying at home. And I never enjoyed socializing to our neighbors, there’s no such time I’ve ever felt that I belong here you know that well. This is the only place here that I actually felt a thing” Let’s go home now. Spike grabs her dress pointing to the way home. “You think they’re spinning their butts trying to find me now do you?” Spike gave her sharp barks; Yes. “Alright you little sweet thing, let’s head home now. Just cover me up good okay” He’s already heading towards the way home before she even got up. “Hey wait up you cheater. We have to get there together; else I’ll be dead. If that happens I’m going to kill you, you little adorable brat” The house is a one big mess. She already knew by looking from afar. “There you are” Her mother’s face is full of rage. She felt a bolt from the look of everyone’s face staring at her in full anger – yet somehow grateful. Nuri rushed to hug her crying. “You gave us heart attack you knuckleheaded dim-witted witch” She gave her soft punches while tearfully hugging her so tight. “How will you ever learn not to defy mother & father’s wishes?” “That’s enough Nuri” Mr. El Harris deep voice broke the heat of fixated stares between everyone on Cassandra’s still clueless face. She barely even has the guts to ask why they are crossing the boundary of their usual overreaction every time she goes out of the Village wall. It’s not like this is the first time she goes near the border. “Are you hurt somewhere dear? He asked her gently then unexpectedly turned towards Spike’s gaze. They both stare at each other for a brief moment, and then finally released a sweet smile. “Alright then” What was that just now? Did they just communicate or something? Or I’m becoming hellishly confused by their sudden unusual behaviors. “I’m sure you’re starving taking long walks around the village” “But honey, we should … “ “Let’s call this a day and just eat can we not?” Her father interrupted before her mother even finished what she has to say. She now feels all the negative emotions greater from feeling of guilt for the scene she has caused just now – funny thing is she felt everyone is a total stranger that very moment. She exploded. “Why won’t you ask me where I went? And why are you all acting crazy? Is it a crime for me to live just a few moment of my life without your noses sticking up on me?” “This is it, you crossed the line you fool!” Grigori blasted in hatred. The Grigori she knows as quiet, lovable and a good brother had just turned to be someone else, like an animal that has gone mad – that’s the look on his eyes right now. The look of a ferocious animal. Spike gnarled with greeted teeth as if protecting her from her brother whose about to attack her. God she can say it will be one painful attack by just the look on his eyes. “Enough of this Grigori” her mother tried to cool the atmosphere down. “She doesn’t have any idea what just happened, so calm yourself up” “What just happened?” Cassandra asked while giving perplexed gaze to all. “For God’s sake enough of you all keeping things from me and keeping me hanging on the edge. It’s really suffocating me now, I’m getting tired of this” “You almost got Nuri killed today you idiotic….” Everyone was shocked by Grigori’s words then got cut off speaking from Spike’s sharp teeth buried in his muscled legs. They’re all in ruckus trying to separate him from the dog. Cassandra was frozen. She felt like she was flushed by cold water in her spine. Grigori had been like that to Nuri ever since she woken up from a big accident. An accident she had forgotten; her life’s disaster that caused her to lose all her memories from the past. That’s also the one reason everyone in her family is so overprotective of her – to the point she’s not allowed to cross their Village’s wall. To the point of taking her the right to explore the world outside their hometown like every normal people do. To the point of having that feeling that there’s still another reason why they’re doing that to her, treating her half their family, and half their prisoner. Nuri and Grigori are the one’s allowed to go back & forth the city wall because of their studies. Both are so outspoken and can interact with just anybody effortlessly. Although they don’t stay long outside the village to keep her of company when her parents are both outside of the wall to work too, still she cannot understand why everyone in her family treated her with such contradiction of good and bad indifference. From what Nuri told her from her stories about their school life outside the wall, she can picture the two clearly. Nuri with the looks close to a Goddess is a star in their school. With her long dark wavy hair, every guy can die in an instant just by flipping it - It suits her gentle personality. She’s the type that you want to be acquainted with and the type that you should not be with also because of her temper. She easily loses her temper despite her gentleness and kind demeanor. And she means it when she says you really don’t want to see her lose her temper. She clearly remembers the time she saw her at the hospital when she just woken up from comma. She looks like an angel but gaze like an eagle, but when she talks to her she immediately felt her genuine care. It’s like a wind that blew hard but is relaxing at the same time. Grigori on the other hand is the exact opposite of her sister. He looks hard & tough in the outside with its muscled body and strong built, but is very soft in the inside with the additives of his kind face. Every ladies as well as guy can be tamed with just the look on his eyes. The number one protector of her sister, he’s more protective of Nuri than with her. She knows it that he’s always playing favorites when he got out of character every time Nuri’s hurt or troubled but still he’s never act outrageous towards her. Now he is a total stranger. The brother, who acts as her greatest watchman, became a totally different person. She now quickly felt a surge of worries towards Nuri – She really might have gotten hurt. But how could she get hurt when she can clearly see her unscratched? Is she hurting somewhere? Where on earth did she look for her for pits sake? She quickly examines her sister but she met her dog’s gaze instead. He looks deeply troubled by the happening and is in pain – she can easily felt it. Her sister is now calming Spike – he really might think that her brother would actually hurt her. Spike has been her only refuge, her only companion in her everyday boring life. Though sometimes Spike can get very playful that she has to search for him in every corner of the village for almost half the day – he’s a really great hide-and-seek player and is very thoughtful and caring for a dog. Sometimes she thinks he’s someone soul trapped in a dog’s body – it’s just one of her silly thoughts. Despite Cassandra’s beauty – scarlet curly hair, crimson lips and lilac eyes, she never had a friend in their village. She thought that it’s because she thinks differently from them. She’s always feeling she has that free spirited and adventurous side trapped inside her silent and remote personality. No wonder why everyone in her village is so aloof and uncomfortable towards her. She’s also the type to be bullied, that’s her weakest point other than enjoying being alone. Nuri, Grigori and Spike are her protectors. And God she admits that she’s a damn weakling. So weak that even fighting for her right of freedom is out of context. She easily embraced her faith of living with so much limitations and rules. That’s also why she can’t blame them, she’s even so scared of regaining her memories she has buried deep inside her. Afraid of asking what really happened after she wakes up from a nightmare she doesn’t even know what. Feeling tremendously fearful of almost everything. Her greatest fear, it’s the oblivion. She deeply closed her eyes with jot of tears. A minute later, everyone is in chaos calling her name. Did I just faint?
