{Parris’s POV}
I woke up pretty late. I had to finish my readings last night so I was in a rush and didn’t bother to have breakfast. When I went to the driveway, I saw Theo in a suit, walking towards his car. He stopped and looked my way as if he could sense someone’s presence staring at him.
Our eyes met.
I was about to smile at him but he already looked away and entered his car, seeming uninterested. I watched it maneuver with my mouth slightly parted in shock. To say that I was taken by surprise was an understatement. I felt my heart tighten in pain but I couldn’t complain.
I asked for this. I deserve this.
