Eira stood with Vale and Arlo gazing down into the expansive mouth of the volcano before them where Pyra's massive elemental core simmered, its molten ruby surface reflecting the chamber walls dancing with magma. Wavering heat stung their eyes even at this height. "We'll have to be quick," Eira said grimly. "Vale, can you fashion icy shields to get us close?" Vale bit her lip uncertainly. "I can try...but we must strike the core fast and escape before the ice melts." Arlo removed his shirt, waving flame-resistant tattoos now visible across his chest and arms - surprising magics coiling intricate from knuckles to neck. "I can endure the core's proximity longer to pry it loose." Eira nodded, then summoned her wind magics. Arlo and Vale hung on as she lifted them swiftly over the boiling crater towards the ruby core pulsing with inner fire. The moment Vale's frozen barriers touched its magma room, they began dissolving rapidly. Weaving between flares, Arlo descended and wrapped his tattooed arms around the massive gemstone, muscles straining as he slowly lifted it free of lava clinging hungrily. "Now, Eira!" he yelled through gritted teeth. Hands trembling from heat and exertion, Eira funneled all her focus into a powerful updraft, whisking them away before the ice fully melted. They had claimed Pyra’s heart! But at what burning cost...?
