Yes, I do," Kelvin replied, "But I still believe Mark Foley has a hand in it. I won't take action until I am absolutely sure." Don Chavez nodded with satisfaction. "Good to know you are thinking with your head and not responding to your emotions," Don Chavez remarked. "I have nothing else to say to you. Please be careful," Don Chavez said before leaving the room. Not long after, Margaret came back in. "I see your father has put some sense into you," she teasingly said. Kelvin stretched his arm to grab her by the waist and kissed her softly. Margaret shoved Kelvin and playfully pressed his wound before saying, "Don't touch me again. I am still angry with you for standing me up the other day." Kelvin protested, saying it wasn't his fault. "I was held up by someone and couldn't make it on time.
Margaret didn't say much after that. She just turned and exited the room. But before she left, she glanced at Kelvin one more time before saying," I will let you make it up to me soon. But now you need to rest and recover. Doctor's order. Soon Kelvin was back in the city, and was waiting for one of his informants. As he was sitting, a familiar face appeared right in front of him. Kelvin raised an eyebrow when he noticed the person. It is rude of you to stare for too long, Kelvin remarked. You think you are clever, said the stranger. Hello Detective Turner, what can I do for you? Or you are just here to waste taxpayers' money and chat idly with me. Kelvin inquire. You think you are clever, Detective Turner replied again. I don't know what you are talking about, detective, you need to be more direct. I am afraid I don't understand what you are saying. Kelvin replied.
Detective Turner took out a cigarette, lit it, put the cigarette in his mouth, and took a long drag before exhaling. He repeated his earlier words. 'You think you are clever. Well, let me explain to you what happens to clever people. They get sloppy, they get caught, or worse, they end up dead,' Detective Kelvin, with a calm demeanor, replied, 'Is that a threat, Detective?' Detective Turner replied, 'Just a piece of advice.' Kelvin, now standing up to meet Detective Turner, gazed at him straight in the eyes and said, 'I hope you live long enough to catch me.' Detective Turner was surprised by Kelvin's cold words and immediately responded, 'Is that a threat?' With a smile that made him look like a gentleman, Kelvin replied, 'It's just a piece of advice.'
The tension in the air was palpable as the two men stood facing each other in silence, the frigid air seemingly intensifying the suspense. Suddenly, a mysterious voice pierced through the stillness, causing both men to turn and fix their gaze upon the newcomer. Detective Turner, ever the astute observer, broke the silence by acknowledging the mysterious person's arrival with a wry comment about the fox being on the loose once more. With a cryptic warning about the inevitable passing of time, Detective Turner made his exit, leaving the two men alone.
As Detective Turner departed, a sense of camaraderie seemed to envelop the remaining duo, leading to shared laughter that echoed through the area .It was then that Kelvin, with a hint of nostalgia in his voice, greeted Monroe and inquired about his unexpected presence in that secluded part of the country. The exchange between the men hinted at a shared history and a deeper connection that transcended mere acquaintanceship, leaving a sense of intrigue lingering in the frosty air.
I just came around to check on things. But when I saw you and detective Turner, I knew that was not a good sign. So I thought to myself, I can't let you alone have all the fun. Kelvin smiled before saying it is good that you want to piss off detective Turner alongside me, but what really brings you down south? Noticing he could not fool Kelvin anymore, Monroe let out a sigh before saying" I am in trouble. Kelvin was genuinely curious to hear Monroe saying he was in trouble. The Monroe he knew really well was his first mentor and teacher. How could this great man be in trouble, he wondered. Age could never have slowed him down. Whatever it is must be very big and serious.
"Do you need a place to stay for a while?" Kelvin asked with a serious expression. Monroe responded quickly, "Yes, but I'm afraid it won't be easy for anyone, especially after me." He continued, "I don't want to cause any trouble for you guys." Kelvin laughed before replying, "We always seem to be in trouble, until the day trouble leaves our lives. That means we're no longer important, or we're dead. You taught me that." Both men laughed before Monroe finally said, "Since you're willing to risk everything for my sake, you should know who is after me."
Kelvin asked, "Who is that person who is not afraid of death and is chasing you?" Monroe hesitated before answering, "It's the Sun Group." There was a moment of silence between the two men. Kelvin was shocked to hear that it was the Sun Group after Monroe. They were known as the most ruthless underground organization in the eastern part of the country. Even Don Chavez had to be cautious when dealing with them. Kelvin, trying to appear brave, said, "It's not like we're afraid of them. They'll have to think twice before causing any trouble in our territory." He reassured Monroe.
But before Kelvin could finish his sentence, they heard a loud gunshot from behind. Both men immediately hit the ground. When they looked up, they saw a stunning woman holding a gun and a sword. Feeling that the woman wasn't looking to start a fight, both men got up and straightened themselves.
Kelvin took a deep breath and asked, "Who are you?"
