I walk quickly toward my father's room. He woke me up by calling to expressly order me to come see him.
I barely had time to throw on a robe.
I enter without knocking. He’s sitting up in bed with the blanket over his legs and shirtless. He glares at me.
As far as I remember, he doesn’t know about all the major screw-ups I’ve done.
"What’s going on?"
He stares at me.
"Are you trying to f**k with me?"
He gives me a hateful, contemptuous look. I knew being “summoned- to my father’s room was a bad sign.

"You’re going to tell me you don’t know why you’re here?"
"If I’m asking, it’s because I don’t know."
