"I was starting to lose patience."
I sit in the chair in front of Khalid’s desk.
"What’s my mission?"
I assume that if he called me into his office, it’s not to ask how I’m doing but to use me.
"This one will be different from the others."
I raise my eyebrows.

He pours himself a glass of water. He starts drinking without taking his eyes off me.
