HOTEL 1:32 AM I come out of a hot bath. I dry off and wrap a towel around my waist. I walk to the bedroom. When I enter, towel wrapped around me, Alexander is still in the same spot as when we got back. He’s sitting on the bed, holding his ring, staring at it blankly. I walk closer and look at him. He doesn’t bother looking up but says: "If you’re about to tell me ‘you almost got us killed over a ring,’ you can go f**k yourself." "I wasn’t going to say that." He looks up, puts the ring back on, unbuttons his shirt to reveal his chest, and stands. I grab his wrist. "I at least deserve an explanation, right? What was that earlier?" He looks at my hand. "Let go." "Answer my question." "I don’t have to justify myself." I struggle to stay calm-it’s pointless to push him too hard.
