Phoenix is shouting in my head. “THE BRIDGE AXTON! TEMPEST IS CALLING!”
I leap from the bed. Bells doesn’t stir until I’m almost out the door.
“Tempest called Phoenix to get to the bridge. Sounded urgent.”
“I’ll get the others and we’ll be there. Mimi too. Be careful please.” Her voice quivers with worry and I hate hearing it.
I shift the minute I hit the outside letting Phoenix race to the bridge. “You do realize Tempest is probably fine. She’s more powerful than we are.”
“Not why she needs us.” He rumbles
I see the green and gold glow as I burst through the trees before the bridge. Ellie and Riley stand there; each ready to use their powers but holding back. Against what though?
