The bells rang as the guests, guided by the servers, made their way to the main hall of the manor. Lily had already casually nestled back beside the wealthy man, walking with him toward the hall as if Mr. Jenkins’s earlier coldness and dissatisfaction had never happened. “This whole setup is really over the top,” Lily remarked, tightening her grip on his thick arm, her voice dripping with envy. “Is this a coming-of-age party? Lucky girl.” Jenkins let out a small, mocking laugh. “The Catherian family doesn’t need luck. Misfortune simply doesn’t touch them.” Following Jenkins’s words, Lily looked inside. The central hall was spacious, with exquisite carpets covering the floor. Crystal chandeliers adorned both sides of the hall, their brilliant light reflecting the opulence of the space.
