In rain.

As they flew the water began to rise, slowly. The leaves held strongly together but uncertainty dwindled in the air as the clouds of the storm came rumbling near. Flutilia felt a small ball in her chest, it twisted making her wings feel tight. Yet they carried on and with every flap of their wings the rain started to grow heavier, Thistle even beginning to have a glaze over her eyes. Not even turning back now would save them from the rain. "I don't like this..." Flutilia almost grinned, "Yeah well when was the last time you liked anything." As midnight drew close the faint flicker of lights of the final town ahead began renewing the hope within them, the flowerbeds in the area were weaker than the ones in the Bluebell Kingdom therefor the fairies of the final town lived within the trees and stumps. A sound above their heads drew their attention as small droplets of water landed against their necks, Thistle's eyes widening droplets grew bigger. "Cover your wings!!" Both the sisters slid their wings into their dresses, diving through the air with the aim on the closest tree with fairies inside who were oblivious. Flutilia watched as the ground grew closer with no way for them to draw their wings. Rain starting to seep into their clothes, their hair clinging to the backs of their necks. "Your highness!" Their eyes darted above as a vine came their way, a male fairy from a branch above holding the other side calling out. "Grab it!" Thistle reached out her hand first catching the very end of it while flutilia almost missed only catching at the last second, being pulled up carefully by three woodland fairies. Surprisingly the fairies who had rescued them almost seemed to have no wings at all, they wore leaf and acorn armour. "Your highness, what in fairkin were you doing? Quickly Poppy! Laev! Get them inside and check their wings." The two female woodland fairies lifted them and ran inside sitting them near a fire, when turning flutilia saw their wings. Poppy she believed was the one with golden hair down to her waist in a tight braid, her wings folded securely inside a turned out leaf. While Laev with cold grey eyes scanned through the medical herbs and turned away had no protection around her wings at all, they were shredded with holes. The male came back inside, shaking his hands through his hair and cracking his hands together, the overwhelming amount of bandages almost showing no skin. "Your highness, What are you doing in Treefair in the middle of a storm?" Poppy began to gently caress Flutilia's wings out of her clothing and spread them delicately near the fire, her shoulders beginning to relax from the warmth. "It is of utmost importance that we go reach the farthest grotto in Treefair." All three of the fairies looked at each other before Poppy asked in a high pitched voice, "Periwinkle grotto?" "Yes." {•°•°•°•} Dewberry slept almost through the night when heavy rain began to tumble against the roof, her wings stretching almost instinctively. "Bramble? You awake?" A snore answered shortly allowing her to smile and tiptoe to the window, holding her hand out to catch some of the rainwater. The rain splashed her entire arm and sprayed against her face, she shivered against the cold before giggling. Dewberry flittered her wings and quietly flew up to the roof only stopping at the skylight lowering her wings, listening to the rain tapping against the glass they had found in the grotto and turned into a skylight. It was almost like her area of peace where everything else melted away, she closed her eyes and began humming. Words dancing in her mind threatened to spill along with the melody as she opened her mouth, singing gracefully. "Desperate for you to see me, pleading to be heard. Can you find me? Oh Swallow bird~" A shadow drifting over the skylight caught her attention as she followed its direction, the sounds of faint voices growing until she saw her mother, brother and two fairies from the empire. Dewberry felt a shiver down her spine as she glanced between them all, "Am I in trouble?"
