A Mate and Meeting

“You’ll regret that.” She declared, then stopped off in the opposite direction of my class. Since I was late anyway I decided to head to the library instead of class. I spent the entire double there reading about the moon goddess. She was the goddess of the moon and had blessed a select few humans to become lycans, over time the mixed with human blood turned to werewolves. In addition to granting these people the ability to turn into wolves, she paired every wolf with a mate, the only person who could complete them, a person whose soul was connected with their own. Though it was uncommon, mate bonds could also occur to no wolf species. Jasmine, my wolf, began to purr happily as we began to think of our mate. I was brought out of my thoughts by the lunch bell ringing. I closed the book I was reading, and rushed off to the cafeteria. Walking in my eyes instantly fell on Marcus, unconsciously headed over to him. He was sitting with his officers, Jake, Max and Lochlan. I draped my arms over Marcus’ shoulder and whispered in his ear, “You miss me?” Without answering he reached back and pulled me around himself, I landed on his lap, and judging by the huge grin on his face that was the plan. “How was your girl world drama?” He asked, wrapping an arm around my waist. “Great! Kate told me you were her’s, so I told her I didn’t see her name on you and by the way you kissed me neither did you.” I announced happily, making the four boys laugh. “And how was your time with the idiodic, testosterone filled, teenage boys?” “We’re right here you know,” Jake said, and the other two nodded in agreement. “I know,” I gave them a smile, and stole a chip from Marcus’ plate. “Hey!” He called out, “My chips,” “Which means they’re mine,” I gave him another smile, and stole another chip. Seeing my group walk in I waved them over. They all took sats around the table -mostly near me- and began talking to each other. Jamie was however unusually quiet. ‘What's wrong?’ I asked, through a form of mind linking. Her eyes flicked over to Jake, who kept throwing glances her way. My eyes widened as I caught Jake's scent. -I had alway had the ability of being able to smell who someone's mate was as long as I’d met them, the two didn't even need to be of age.- Jake was Jamie's mate! My eyes widened at this realisation. ‘s**t, congrats girl!’ I called through the link. ‘I have a mate!’ He called back, excitement evident in her voice. ‘What’s happening?’ Brie asked, joining the link. ‘Jake’s my mate!’ Jamie told her. The table's attention fell on us three girls, since we were sitting there silently, wide eyed and smiling. Roscoe groaned, he knew what we had been doing and obviously was waiting for us to start mercilessly talking about it. Us girls burst out laughing at his reaction. “You're safe for now Roscoe,” Jamie informed him, an evil smile playing at the corners of her lips. ‘Oh, guys at the end of lunch follow us to the pack house,’ I told all five of them. As soon as lunch ended the table stood and we all made our way to the pack house, and into conference room C. Marcus and I sat at the head of the table, his officers on the left side and my ‘protectors’ on the right. “What do these five have to do with this?” Max asked, gesturing to my side. “They’re with me,” I responded. “Jake, Max, Lochlan now is the time for you to ask any question you have before Crystal takes over,” Marcus announced, beginning the meeting. “Is Crystal your mate?” Lochlan asked, “Yes she is,” “When did you find out?” Max was the one to speak that time. “I found her sunday night after training,” “Why haven't you announced it yet?” Lochlan asked, “That is what Crystal will explain,” “What's your name?” Jake wasn’t talking to us but instead Jamie. “Jamie,” She replied. The rest of the room -except us girls- looked between the two confused. I winked at Jamie, a smile on my face. “What’s going on?” Dylan asked, breaking the silence the room had fallen into. “Can we please have the meeting first,” Jamie asked, looking towards me, I didn’t miss the hurt that crossed Jake’s face and nor did she. “Ofcourse,” I looked at Marcus before speaking again, he nodded and I began. “My name is Crystal Haret, my mother is Kira Haret. Just last night I was informed of who my father is exactly, I always knew his name was Lucas Blackwood,” The three officers all took audible intakes of breath. I continued to tell them what I had told Marcus last night. “These are the people that were sent to protect me, Dylan, Brie,Jamie, Roscoe and Alex,” As I said their name they either waved or said a small ‘hello’. I nodded to Dylan and he began to talk, “Hi, I’m a born vampire, I’m nineteen years old and a clan warrior,” When he finished, Brie started. “Hi, I’m an immortal unicorn shifter hybrid, I’m eighteen and I help with spells and protection,” They continued in the order of which I had introduced them. “Hey, I’m an immortal knowledge pixie, I’m also eighteen,” “Sup, I’m an immortal griffin, fairy hybrid, I’m twenty, and I’m a clan warrior,” “I’m a born vampire, I’m also twenty and i’m the best warrior in our clan,” Then I went, “I’m seventeen, and I have graduated more times than all of you in the room combined, Ifirst graduated highschool at seven, in total I’ve graduated from high school thirteen times and college twenty seven times,” Marucs let out a low whistle, then he went. “I'm eighteen and suddenly feeling really dumb,” His officers all nodded in agreement. ‘I’m Jake, Future beta and I’m eighteen,’ “Max, Future gamma, seventeen,” “Hi, I’m Lochlan, I’m the future delta and I’m also eighteen,” With that out of the way Dylan pounced on Jaime. “So what’s up with you and Jake doing introductions so early on?” “She’s my mate!” Jake announced proudly, showing that he didn’t care she wasn’t a werewolf but in fact a vampire hybrid. Roscoe, Dylan and Alexall let out warning growls -which were halfway to hisses- making all but us girls jump. “You three stop it!” I commanded and they immediately stopped, “Just because you're over protective of us girls doesn't mean you can go growling at our mates! What are you going to do when Brie meets hers? Are you going to growl at him too? I think not.” Brie’s head snapped towards me, “I have a mate? Who?” I simply smiled at her and shook my head. “Soon,” “They hell does that mean?” Brie asked, sounding slightly pissed off. I shook my head refusing to answer any further just to tease her. “Crystal, I think you should tell them about your you know,” Marcus said, he was changing the subject back to the more important things. “Right. So since I’m part vampire and part werewolf, etcetera sometime my vampire side tries to shut down my body, this leads to me struggling to breathe and excruciating pain, the only way to stop these temporarily is for me to-” I stopped talking, ‘Crystal dear, can I please speak with you in ten minutes, you know where. Oh and bring the people you're meeting with currently’ The fairy queen called through a link we shared. ‘Yes of course, I’ll see you soon.’ All eyes were on me, “You okay?” Marcus asked, “Yeah, sorry, but we need to wrap this up,” I smiled at them, “Girls you're getting your wish, and everyone else is expected to come along as well.” Brie and Jamie jumped from their chairs and began jumping while holding hands and squealing. “Wait, we’re going to the fairy court?” Alex asked wide eyed. “To have a private meeting with the fairy queen,” I added in, making the girls squeal even more, so I decided to tease Brie. “Plus, maybe we’ll run into Bries mate while we’re there.” Brie stopped jumping, “He lives in the fairy kingdom?” I nodded my head.
