Decisions

The first lecture of the semester happened and a break was on. There Elena who had been walking about and processing her thoughts met with Rab who seemed back to himself as well. Rab walked alone through the walkway and headed towards the only restaurant which sold Scottish delicacies. He had been there once, accompanied by Elena and he took Neeps and Tatties. Elena snuck up and when he entered and had taken a seat, after which he ordered his meal, she joined in on the table and sat before him. "Good morning," Rab said immediately and Elena replied with a wink. "Jojo, where is she?" Rab asked. "She isn't free now. I saw them heading to the practical lab," Elena answered and noticed the new look on him. Rab was speaking first. More importantly, he was not stuttering before speaking to her. Also, his head was up and his eyes were fixed on Elena. "I see. So you want to try out a Scottish delicacy?" Rab asked and Elena shook her head. "You seemed different," Elena said. "What do you expect?" Rab returned. "I expect a lot from you," Elena intoned. "You expected that I would run up when I see you and call 'Oh Elena Oh Elena, the goddess that walks the bright lands of Grit? Or what do you expect," Rab said comically. His hands were in the air, making Elena think that he was acting out a scene. "Oh no. What?" Elena interjected quizzically. "Or perhaps you expected that I would pick up a public address system and announce that I suckled on Phil and Jojo yesterday. Right?" Rab cried aloud. In an audible voice that would have been heard should they were surrounded by other students. "Remember the rules. You don't talk about the dirty game," Elena blurted. "Oh yes. That's the rule. We don't talk about it, you don't, I don't. There is Liam surrounded by girls. You think he won't?" Rab said and pointed at a group that had Liam in it. "You don't entrust anything into the hands of a male who is always surrounded by females. Ladies can act better at times. Do not think words about what we did aren't out. So you may be the only one taking it sacred." "Well, that's it for me. We don't talk about it," Elena issued. "I've once been like that. When I think the world is about me and that everything in it is working towards making me happy or otherwise. I think my friends were for me, and myself for me. But I was wrong. I was totally wrong. I have my life and my life is about me. My friends have their life, their lives are about them as well. All enjoyable moments are not built so that I could laugh, it was so that we could laugh. Understand that it is a wrong and a self-centred mind behind that thought," Rab said and Elena stared back. "Are you judging me now?" Elena questioned. "Maybe I am. You used me and dumped me. You were able to use me because you saw it in me that I could be used and dumped. I accepted to be strung along, all because I wanted you. You know it, Jojo knew it, Marcos, too. He told me when you left the volleyball court. He said he could see how I looked at you, and how we, I and you were looking at each other. He was mature more than his looks. I thought he was rash and senseless. But he told me to continue and that he would do everything to prove to you that you're deservedly his. So when you started with your plans I knew that you and Marcos were falling apart. I also knew that was the test subject in a theory that would ultimately fail. So tell me, how do I worked? Perfect or worse?" he landed. "Oh, Rab. It was not intended," Elena pleadingly said after she looked deep into his eyes. "No, it was. But no regrets. I learned a lot yesterday. I'm now like an arrow in the sky, dangling across the sky without a source bow. I am a virgin. Though I can't say I'm proudly a virgin but I've seen and done things that virgins don't do. Maybe it's my call into the wild. Thank you for the avenue," Rab said and would stand. But Elene held his hands and he paused. "Please sit," Elena begged and he did. "As I said, I've seen and done a lot. When does the next dirty night hold? I would be there," Rab said and Elena scoffed. She knew he had a lot to say and was being dramatic and somewhat easy on her too. "I am sorry. But believe me if I tell you that you held a part of my heart before I stepped into Marcos's house. I was going there with the intention to show Marcos and all that I've gotten a new guy which was you. But Marcos had been there for a long time. He knew the routes back. I am sorry I couldn't help it," Elena said. Rab stared back and Elena read his face. He had once been inspirational for the main character in her building up novel where she was writing about a character change from the coy type into one wild with girls and Rab's countenance and looks had been noted and used for the buildup of the story. When the anger subsided, and she saw a face lighted with a flint, she wanted to laugh in the midst of it all but she cautioned herself. "You meant it? When did it begin?" Rab asked as he sat back and returned a stare for Elena. "Since the time I kissed you," Elena answered. "We can't work out, can we?" Rab questioned and Elena slowly shook her head. "About the next dirty game, I don't think you would be able to wait. It's coming at the end of the semester," Elena hinted. "Oh, that's long," Rab remarked. "You can dirty up anytime you want. You don't have to wait for the free version of girls at the dirty party," Elena advised and expected that he'd show but she was wrong. Rab held a dull countenance. She had plans for him which were that she wanted to teach him. Still, she wanted to. "I can't. I tried it this morning. I tried to flirt with Jessica. I ended up telling her about my childhood. I think I'm lacking somewhere and somehow," Rab said. "Indeed. Ta-da! I know where," Elena said. "Where?" Rab asked with a voice and expression that wanted to know things. "Jojo told me that guys don't just change into the wild. There's always a cause. It's either pornography, or hyperbolic flirts, or hanging out with girls, or having s*x. These are triggers for a change in boys. Either of these things is always responsible for the charge a male needs to go into the wild. You've done all but s*x. Maybe that's all you need." "How?" Rab said and after a long stare into Elena's face, the creases of his lips burst with a smile as he dimmed his eyes. "Don't give me that look," Elena said and shook her head. She could read Rab and the covert words on his face and the words that were unsaid were that he wants Elena to teach him. "Are you really sorry you brought me into this mess? Then free me. Teach me all I need to know to hunt girls on my own and like Nathan or Jeremy. I would readily learn with you," Rab said. "No, no Rab. You don't have to be a version of Jeremy or Nathan. Be yourself," Elena advised. "Then teach me," Rab said and Elena stared back. A part of her wanted to while the other part didn't want to. But the part that wanted to was stronger. She was having her definition of the word cheating. May had been attacked and she needed it. She wanted to be free and Rab was giving it to her. She wanted to do away with all ties and focus more on the part that Rab had said. The world as she saw it was not just about her, or the happenings that surrounded her. It was about all the ones in her life as they had a lot of roles to play. She wanted to find out, and to do this, she needed focus.
