THE AGONY

It was on a moon day,Adrian and Helda were sober about the state of life they were passing through, affecting their daughter was mostly their priority in the discussion.

I had in mind that our daughter Maria should go learn a trade,Adrian said to Maria.

Adrian,you know how bad this economy is. Learning a tread won't solve our family situation;take an example from me and see if my trade is benefiting the family"NO”.

We hope that God will visit Maria to make her dream come through.

Maria overheard their discussion, she was sober

From afar, she said,mom,dad,please don't be too hard on yourself because I am jobless.

The fact that my friend Jessy is in school doesn't mean I won't be there too.

With just a little time…things might change.

Maria left.

Adrian and helda were furious at why Maria sounded that way!

Helda,do you have an idea what Maria might be having in mind?

No, of course I don't.

But whatever she has in mind,I hope it comes out positively.

THE MEETING POINT

Jessy met with Maria after school,

My dear,my dad is restricting me from meeting with you..so I had to after school before going home.

He says I'll lose focus in studies,but nevertheless, no one can stop our friendship.

Maria,what's your plan of going to school?

Well,I don't have a plan yet…still hoping for the best.

You and I know very well that this economy is on the high side,no good salary except the gas limited company that was built just recently.

Most of our youth were employed there based on their certificate…I don't even have an SSCE…so I wouldn't think of going there!

It was a dry season, time for exportation, The CEO,Bills Eleanor came by for inspection. On his way to the factory with the occurring speed to arrive on time…

Maria was heading to see her friend in school since Jessy happens to be the only friend she finds comfort with.

Gosh,what is this…look at me?

Maria lamented as water was splashing on her by bills convoy heading to the factory.

Bills noticed this and ordered for a stop…

Stop this car,he angrily said, we are heading to the factory. It doesn't mean we should put damage on people walking…look at the damage we've done to this girl.

Bills stepped down from the car,walked towards Maria.

Am sorry for this,I think my people didn't notice you…

Itz okey sir I'll take care of myself…nooo you'll not,not after I did this to you.

Don't worry,you have nothing to be afraid of.

I was supposed to head out to the factory for exportation before this happened,but,I'll take you alone with me to the factory,after the exportation…we'll head to the shopping mall for some clothes so you can change this.

“Let go”

Maria went with Bills to the factory,the exportation was carried out within 30 minute.

THE ENCOUNTER

After shopping in the mall, Adrian had some conversation with Maria in the car.

What's your name my dear,

I'm Maria by name sir..

It was already some hours late,

Time isn't by my side to talk to you..meanwhile I'll reach out to you.

Bills offers Maria his ID card,

Call me tomorrow and you'll be expecting to see me around,

it's impossible I see you…

Ahh,,hmm sir, I don't have a phone to reach out to you..,

Okay,I'll drop you by the phone shop,get you a phone and you'll register a sim there..,hmm okay,it'll still delay my meeting.

Before Bills left,he offered Maria 700$ which could afford Maria a smartphone…

Maria was full of excitement…a poor girl like me met the CEO,

Maria was so so happy

She still went back to school to meet Jessy,unfortunately,school had dismissed

Maria couldn't find her around..she went home.

Maria's parents were worried about her,

Itz 7 hours since Maria stepped out of the house,yet to return..she hasn't stay this long before.

After 30 minutes, Maria arrived, holding in her hand,clothes and a phone.

Maria,where have you been?

Dad,I went to see my friend,on my way,I had an accident with the CEO convoy,Mr Bills the CEO of the gas industry limited.

He splashed water on me…after several apologies from him…he took me to shop for some clothes and bought me this phone.

My dear,do you know the implications of accepting expensive gifts like this?

Dad,he insisted I take the gift

Besides, he sounds friendly and he's a good man.

My dear,I am not against him or things he bought for you,but am only concerned that you should be careful with pleasant gift like this.

Maria's mom wasn't comfortable with those gifts..

Maria met with Bills Eleanor at the phron restaurant…

I was supposed to have some conversation with you, but lately I was rushing to work.

My name is Maria,the only child of Mr and Mrs Adrian belson,

My family and I live in the new down City and I'm the only child of my parents and am 24 years old.

What about school?

Are you working and do you have any certificates?

I am currently not working and I'm not schooling as well because we can't afford some money to pay fees and further myself to school.

Bills Eleanor; that's sad precisely, would you love to go to school if I have to sponsor you up to a higher education or standard of your choice.

Maria; I will definitely love to sir,but I don't have all the necessary demand to go to school,I don't have money that will support me to any level of my choice.

If you don't mind,I will love to show you my company and some places at work so I can employ you there. You'll work like 5 months for experience purposes and after then I'll put you into school.

Maria cried and sober with excitement…I never believed I'll be this privileged sir…am most honored sir.
