Chapter 20: Dagger For what seemed like decades, I endured the grueling drudgery of having to sit through dinner, to sup with my begrudging father. Father, of course, dined separately with his Holy Sanhedrin again over tea, but I was never permitted to partake in such intimate meetings. I tossed and turned in my sleep, fearing for much of the night that Daddy would drop in at any given moment to scold me, more than to ensure that I was safe. Truly, I surely dreaded every waking moment I was to spend the following day with my father amongst the Sanhedrin. And the most fearsome part, to me, was that I'd spend much of her time with them in silence, thus leaving me to my own self, and mind.
