“Okay. Thank you, dear Kitty." I smiled graciously, but when Emanuel turned around in his chair, his back to me, my face fell, as I realized that Emanuel was done with me. Without so much as a “farewell" or “nice seeing you."
No… surely, something was not quite right about this entire exchange. And what I had hoped would be something very memorable and meaningful, ended up leaving me feeling even more confused and fearful than I had ever been.
