The next morning I woke up feeling relaxed, I was early to Elite even, as I got off the elevator, my heels clicked over the marble floors, I passed the glass doors and passed in front of Rico's office, as an instinct I looked inside as I walked past, he was fixated on something on his computer screen but I guess my heels made him aware of his surroundings, he looked up as I smiled walking past the door. "Luna!" He called my name and my body shivered, I slowly turned and stood in the doorway to his office. "Good morning Rico." I managed to get the words out of my throat without sounding like a frog was stuck in it.
"Morning, you ready for today's meeting? I expect great ideas from you." I expect to wake up to you every morning but hey who's complaining here. My inner goddess hissed. "I-I'm pretty sure I've got a few ideas cooking up." He smiled that beautiful smile that reaches his eyes and my heart dipped down to my stomach and sprung up back to my chest like a slinky. "That's what I like to hear, go on get settled and I'll see you and the rest of the gang in about an hour." I nodded and weakly walked away. As I walked into my office my phone rang, it was my best friend and Rico's girlfriend, Denise. "Good morning sunshine." She sounded chirpy, this couldn't be good, she was never happy in the mornings, but then again I could be wrong.
"Good morning D, what's up?" She called to ask me if Rico was in, why me? He had his own secretary for crying out loud. "Yeah he's in, but he seems pretty busy, did you try his cell?" I sat at my desk, powered up the Mac, and clicked away with the wireless mouse pulling up the file of ideas I'd typed up last week for this week's meeting, I set them to print. "Yeah but he's not picking up."Why was he avoiding her? That was strange. "Well we have a meeting in an hour maybe he's preparing for it." I'm saving face for him? Luna Bradley you have fallen into a pit of shame, I shook my head and went straight to my printer, put the files in order and sat back at my desk. "Yeah, I know how manic he can get with his meetings, do you think you can be a doll and just tell him to call me back? We still have to talk about that apartment we saw last week."
I shut my eyes tightly as my heart sank again. "You're moving in together?" I tried not to sound so sad. "Yeah, I just asked him and he was all for it, I'm so happy. So now you have to tell him to call me!" I let out a sigh before finally agreeing. "You're the best Lulu!" And with that she hung up, I shot up from my chair and paced back and forth, my office wasn't the biggest but I put effort in decorating my work space, since the doors and panels were all in glass I had shades to exude some type of privacy. I had a beautiful glass desk, where my Mac desktop rested, my personal desk chair was white, in front of my desk two white chairs for visitors and to the corner I had my white file cabinet, the view from my office was incredible, I could see all of downtown Manhattan from it.
He's moving in with her, now you really have to forget about him, it is not an option to string yourself along anymore Luna. I stared at the busy city below me as I self advised myself. A light tap on my door pulled me out of my thoughts. "Meeting starts in five, Luna." Rico said, I nodded and becoming a pool of sand after he closed the door.
