Karina's POV

My mind was unsettled until I've finished taking a bath, thinking that I did it with an Alpha again while I'm sober. To think that he didn't even use any condoms to me was so reckless. Well, it seems like it didn't bother him also since recessive omegas have lesser chances of getting pregnant if they're not in heat. And my heat was already gone in the morning the moment I wake up, so I guess there's nothing to worry about.

I went out of my room after dressing up to eat some breakfast that I prepared before taking a bath. When I entered the kitchen I saw Niccolo sitting on the chair with his face on his laptop. My eyes glance slightly on the screen and saw a lot of letters and tabs that I can't even understand what are those. Lucas is undeniably a rich Alpha and I wouldn't be surprised that even his personal beta is also busy.

After pulling the chair, I seated on it and grabbed a club house sandwich that I made a while ago then poured a bit of juice. I bet Lucas had already his breakfast since he's getting ready now. My eyes went on Niccolo, wanting to invite him to eat.

I reached my hand beside his laptop, tapping the table to get his attention. "Have some sandwiches Niccolo."

He looked at me for a second and went back to his laptop. "Thanks, I already had mine." He replied so I didn't bother disturbing him anymore. At least he answered me politely not like before where every words that he's spilling on me is pissing me off.

"Niccolo let's go n.. " Lucas paused what he was saying when he saw me eating. "Where are you going?" He asked.

My eyebrows raised at him while taking the last bite inside my mouth. "Going to work, where else could I go?" I replied.

"Didn't I told you not to work in the coffee shop anymore?" I almost choked myself with the juice I was drinking at what he uttered. He can't be serious with that right? Why would I suddenly stop from working without any reason?

"Huh?! Why would I do that? I'm working perfectly fine in that place, so why are you telling to stop working?" I asked crossing my arms at him. I notice Niccolo is about to explode at the attitude I'm showing to his Alpha.

"Tch! Nevermind, just give me a call immediately if something happens. Let's go Niccolo." He mumbled then advance his way out of the house.

What does he mean by that? Did something bad happen yesterday? But I can't remember.

After eating, I quickly went out of the house going to the work since it's about time and I'm going to be late if there's traffic.

While I was inside the taxi going to the coffee shop, my phone suddenly rang with Mia's name on the screen. "Hello Mia?" I greeted after answering the phone. It's unusual for her to call me this early. Does she needs something?

"Karina, can you make a day tomorrow night for a dinner?" She asked. Right, tomorrow is her birthday so that's why. I need to buy her a present at least a cheap one that she can use.

"Of course, I'll tell my boss if I could go out during that time." I mumbled with uncertainty in my voice. It would be really hard to convince Lucas to let me out during night. He's acting like he's my guardian now. But even if I worked for him he can't be that strict with me right, since he's not paying the remaining hours that I'm inside the house. So it will be fine right?

"Thank you Karina.. I'll see you tomorrow. If yu can bring your boss or Niccolo that would be much appreciated bye.. hehe" She replied turning the phone call off. There's no way I could shamelessly ask Lucas to come with me and have a dinner to a cheap restaurant. Knowing Mia, that's how we both usually celebrate our birthday. It would be much more difficult when that beta is around, he will just judge us for sure.

When I arrived at the coffee shop, it's unusual that there were a lot of customers already, some were eating their breakfast with a coffee. I bet Mathew must've felt tired already early this morning.

After changing inside the staff room, I went over the counter and tap Matthew's shoulder. He's currently frying some sausages and bacon.

"Goodmorning, I'll do that Mathew. You can go and take orders from the customers now." I said when a group of employees went inside.

"You're here?" He asked me.

I just give him a confused look and push him a little so I could do the cooking. "Why won't I? Silly. Give attention to the customers now." I demanded so he immediately went to entertain the group.

I wonder what happened between Lucas and Mathew. It seems like they provoked each other. Should I ask him about that? But that would be so actually. Oh well, it's not like it's my problem so nevermind.

When it's lunch time hour I went inside the staff's room to eat quickly so I could take over Mathew and that he can eat after me. When we got our time alone and there were only few customers left, I went closer to him.

"Mathew, can I ask something from you?" I uttered. There's no way I'm letting this slide without me knowing what were they are fighting for.

"What is it Karina?" He asked.

"I've notice you've been ignoring me. Why is that? And why does it seems like you had a fight with Lucas?" I bombarded him with so many questions since I really want to know what happen.

"Hey! You can only ask me question one by one every day." He implied. I can't be rude to him since he's still my boss here in coffee shop.

"Then, did you had a fight with my other boss." I asked blantly so I could have a peace of mind.

"He was angry that you went home late. That's all."

What? That's all? It's so hard to believe that Lucas got angry knowing how lame the reason is.
