I turned my head to where the voice came from and saw my beta, Vinia, panting as he moved closer to where I was sitting.
“Why should I help him?” I asked. I wasn't surprised at what he just said. After all, it was not the first time Jason asked for our help. We were a special pack and that was why many packs always asked for our help. But I never gave my help to anyone without something in return. I already had a lot going on in my plate, why then help someone who had no use to me?
“H-he said he would make sure to give something…something very precious to you in return!” My beta stuttered and I became suspicious of the “something precious” that Alpha Jason the mate rejector would give to me.
