CHAPTER 3: THERE IS NOTHING BETWEEN THE TWO OF US

1021 Words
I clenched my fists, my nails digging into my flesh and drawing blood but I didn't care. The pain threatening to suffocate me from watching Jason kiss Dilai is incomparable to the pain of hurting myself. 'calm down!' I whispered but despite exhausting the last bit of my self control, I could not stop myself. " How could you Jason!" I screamed at him, pain and disbelief painting my face. Did he choose her intentionally just to hurt me even more? Was the pain he inflicted on me yesterday not enough that he had to bring my arch enemy and flaunt her in my eyes? What wrong did I ever do to him to hurt me so badly? "What are you doing here? I thought I already made myself clear Nadia. There's nothing between the two of us and never will. The earlier you get that in your thick skull the better for all of us." Jason uttered, coldly making me flinch. "Of all the people, why her? " I questioned. " Who do you think you are to question my decision? Don't forget your place Nadia because I won't hesitate to remind you. Just because you are my fated mate doesn't give you the right to openly challenge me. I am the Alpha of this pack. " Jason spat coldly, glaring at me. I chuckled, albeit bitterly. " Who am I? Of course I am a nobody. I am just a useless Omega without any significance in this pack but what about her?" I asked, pointing at Dilai who had a smug look on her face, looking down at me as if I was some clown doing circus dance to amuse her. "Do you have any idea what she did to members of this pack three years ago? What did she do to my parents? " I shouted at him. I knew by doing so I was blatantly disrespecting him but so what? To hell with the respect. At this point I don't think I can ever accord him that. A look of surprise and curiosity flashed through Jason's face but it was gone as soon as it appeared, replaced by his cold and expressionless face. "What is she saying? Darling, I don't understand. " Dilai cooed, her hands snaking around Jason's arms. Looking at her touch my mate so intimately, all I wanted was to rush to her and tear her into a thousand pieces but with the guards restraining me, there was nothing I could do. "Ignore her, she is just babbling nonsense." Jason replied in an attempt to placate Dilai which angered me even more. I am spouting nonsense? Just for the sake of a damn alliance, he was willing to overlook the fact that his b***h caused the death of countless members of the Moon stone pack. Looking at her face, all I could see was my parent's battered bodies after they were killed by the rogues. "I know that you are Jason's fated mate and that you are angry at me because Jason chose me over you but that doesn't give you the right to falsely accuse me. I don't know you so how could I know your parents? Let alone harm them?" Dilai said in her sickening sweet voice, an innocent look on her face but even with the facade, nothing could hide the malice in her heart. "If you want someone to blame for your misfortunes, go find the rogues who attacked the people. It's not good to accuse others no matter how angry you are with them. '' She added, successfully painting me as the bad guy. The people around started murmuring, obviously buying Dilai's story. "She is just jealous that the Alpha chose someone else over her." "She is just an Omega, how dare she think that she can fight with an Alpha blood?" "This pack needs a strong Luna, not a pathetic weak Omega like her." " What is she even thinking? That by slandering Luna that she will have a chance with the Alpha?" The people's disdainful words added to my pain. They were willing to listen to a vixen than believe the truth? And Jason? Of all people, how could he take her side? She killed the people of this pack, his people, how could he be fine with bringing such a person back to the pack? "I will kill you to avenge the death of my parents." I roared hysterically, thrashing around as I tried to wriggle out of the guards restraints. The guards roughly pushed me to the ground, knocking my head hard against the floor. My vision turned blurry before darkness finally consumed me. My mind drifted back to three years ago when everything started. Things were going very well when all of a sudden, the pack started declining under the leadership of then the late Alpha. He offended people right and left, leaving the Moon stone pack without any allies. That evening, I had gone to wait for Jason in our usual meeting area but ended up waiting until darkness covered the land. Worried that something bad might have happened to him, I rushed to his home only for the Alpha to break the news about Jason's departure. "What do you mean by he left? He didn't say a word about leaving to me?" I had asked. "How could he tell you? He is a coward and that's what cowards are good at; running away when faced with an obstacle. " His father had replied to me, his answer broke my heart. Unable to believe him, I had rushed to all the places we always frequented but not even a shadow of him could be traced. The scene in my mind then slowly changed to the image of Jason waving at me, a sad smile on his face. My eyes flew open as my heart raced and sweat covered my face. "Look who finally decided to wake up!" Dilai's mocking voice had me looking up only to be greeted by her face hovering above me, an evil smirk dancing at the corner of her lips.
