Chapter 8: She is his weakness

Su Qian has become accustomed to her daily life - spending long days alone in an empty house. Although her life has no ups and downs, she gradually began to find a kind of peace in this peace. "There's a dinner party tonight, and I need you to go with me." On the other end of the phone, Li Tingchuan's voice was still calm and without any fluctuations.

The dinner party was held in a luxurious hotel. When Su Qian and Li Tingchuan arrived together, many people had already gathered in the venue. She lowered her head and followed Li Tingchuan into the hall silently. In this luxurious environment, she always felt that she was a little out of place. She turned her head and it turned out to be Lu Chenyi.

"Mr. Lu." She was stunned for a moment, and responded with a smile, but she was a little nervous in her heart. She knew that Lu Chenyi could always affect her emotions inadvertently.

"You are here?" Lu Chenyi's eyes were gentle and he smiled slightly, seemingly not noticing her uneasiness. "Isn't Li Tingchuan with you?"

"He is talking to someone else." Su Qian nodded gently, and her eyes could not help but glance at Li Tingchuan in the distance.

Lu Chenyi looked at her and seemed to sense her uneasiness. He approached slightly and whispered, "You look a little uncomfortable. Do you want me to drink something with you?"

Su Qian shook her head subconsciously, "No, thank you." She knew that she couldn't let Lu Chenyi get too close, especially in this kind of occasion. She knew clearly that the marriage between her and Li Tingchuan was still her inescapable responsibility.

However, Lu Chenyi did not give up, but went a step further. He still maintained a gentle smile, and there seemed to be some firm emotion in his eyes. "If you need me, I'm always here."

Her heart was slightly shaken, knowing that Lu Chenyi was not just talking casually. His concern for her was obviously not just politeness, but more of a deep emotion.

"Thank you." Su Qian said softly, but she still kept her distance. She knew that she couldn't accept this feeling.

Just then, Li Tingchuan came over, his eyes swept coldly across the distance between the two of them, and his face instantly became colder. "Lu Chenyi." He called out in a cold tone.

Lu Chenyi smiled slightly and nodded politely to Li Tingchuan. "Mr. Li, what a coincidence."

Li Tingchuan did not respond, but turned to Su Qian and said, "Go meet some people I know."

Su Qian was stunned for a moment, then nodded, and followed him away from Lu Chenyi. Complex emotions surged in her heart, and she suddenly felt like she was sandwiched between two people. She knew that Lu Chenyi's concern was something she couldn't ignore, and Li Tingchuan's indifference was a reality she couldn't escape.

She followed Li Tingchuan into the crowd. Although he didn't say much, she could always feel his eyes sweeping over her from time to time.
