I woke up with my alarm going off. Remembering last night’s events, I wanted to crawl in a corner of my bedroom and keep on crying but I decided to go the other way.

So, I got up and get ready for school. I did my morning routine and dressed in my black jeans and white t-shirt.

I went down the stairs to the kitchen seeing that mom and dad hasn’t woken up yet. So, I took the importunity to leave without meeting them. I took my car keys and drove to Ella’s to pick her up.

-to Ella-

Hey I’m on my way. Coming early today. Mom and dad home. Not in the mood to talk to them.

-from Ella-

Okay. See you soon.

Before I got the chance to leave, I saw Jay walking from behind the house with a guy and a girl by his side. The girl was leaning on Jay and touching him like they were a couple. First, he looked a little annoyed at her but when he saw me watching he put his arm around her and kissed her. His friend looked taken back and then his gaze slid to me and I took that as a cue to leave. Looking in my mirror I saw them sucking each other’s faces and the other guy still looking at me (well the back of my car now).

Soon I came to Ella’s and because we still had time I went inside and saw her eating breakfast.

“Hey.”

She just looked up at me and smiled.

After she ate, she went to change and then she came down and we were on our way to school.

“So, what’s with that look on your face?”

“What look?”

“Don’t play dumb. It’s obvious that something is going on. So, speak up.”

I sighed and told her everything he told me about her. Hoping she will let it by and I won’t have to tell her everything.

“Okay.”

“That’s it? That’s all you’re gonna say? Aren’t you freaked out? Just a little bit?”

“We will talk about that some more after you tell me what else is going on with you. You always listen to my problems. Now it’s time for me to listen to your problems.”

“Fine. I’ll tell you.”

And I did. I told her everything. From how he told me I’m his mate and how he rejected me to that girl this morning,

Ella just listened with open mouth not saying anything for a while.

“That as***e. How could he do this to you. I’m gonna kill him for hurting you like this. Is the girl from our school?”

“No. it’s my first time seeing her. Why?”

“No reason.” She said while smiling to herself. I wonder what she’s planning now.

After coming to school, I saw his car was already there. Sam was also waiting for us and Ella ran to him.

“PDA guys. Can you please stop?” before they got together, they were childhood best friends and at the end of freshmen year they became a couple.

After they finished kissing, we all went in school to start with our day.

-after classes ended-

“Are you sure you’ll be fine Bec?”

“Yes Ell. I’ll be fine. I’ll see you tomorrow.”

I walked Ella to Sam’s car and that’s when I saw them.

“Is that her?”

I just nodded her head. She typed something on her phone and then gave me her bag and made her way to Jay, barbie and the guy from this morning. And before I could see it coming, she slapped Jay and started screaming at him

“HOW COULD YOU? I TRUSTED YOU! YOU SAID YOU LOVED ME! THAT IT WAS LIKE LOVE AT FIRST SIGHT! AND NOW I SEE YOU HERE WITH THIS PLASTIC W***E? YOU AND I ARE OVER. DON’T TALK TO ME AGAIN. DON’T EVEN LOOK AT ME!” after that she left and came back everyone that was there was confused but not more than Jay, barbie and the other guy.

While her screaming match Sam came and was confused as ever.

Boy she had some explaining to do.

Deciding that Jay can find his way to the library I left.

I waited for about 10 minutes for him.

After he came in, he was furious. His check already healed. Like nothing ever happened.

“What was your friend thinking?”

I just shrugged and went to looking at my nails again. I just couldn’t look at him in the moment.

Releasing he won’t get the answer to his question he sat down and we started working.

And to my surprise we worked just fine and finished everything. now we just had to hand it in.

After that we both went our separate ways.

After coming home, I saw it was already almost 5pm. So, I quickly went to take a quick shower and dressed in black jeans and black crop top with long sleeves.

I waited for the text from Matt to tell me that they’re waiting for me in front of the house.

Hey we’re in front of the house.

-To Big Bro-

Coming.

I got up from my bed and left. On my way out I met with my parents but I ignored them and just left. And they didn’t say anything either.

Entering the car, I saw my brother behind the well and on the passenger, seat was Tina.

“Hey!”

“Hey sis. Sis this is my girlfriend Tina. Tina this is my baby sister Rebecca.”

“Hey I’m Tina. It’s nice to meet you.”

“Hey I’m Rebecca. It’s nice to meet you too.”

“Okay let’s go.” And with that Matt drove off. In the car we made small talk. Mostly just Matt asking me about my day and what happened in school.

After arriving at the restaurant, we sat behind a table with me facing Tina and Matt. The waiter came and we put our order.

After that slightly awkward silence I decided to end it by asking them how they met.

Tina giggled at that and Matt furrowed his eyebrows and I just looked at them confused.

It was Tina that answered me.

“We actually met in high school. He was a senior and I was a freshman. I remember him always being with the popular crowed while I was always with my closest friends. I was actually crushing on him but one of my friends from that time had more courage and approached him and they started dating. And I didn’t want to steal my friend’s boyfriend so I stepped back and let them be. After he graduated, I didn’t see him for a long time. We met then in line in Starbucks.”

My jaw was literally on the floor at that. I kept looking between amused Tina and grumpy Matt.

“Please tell me you at least remembered her in Starbucks?” was the first thing I said.

“For your information I did.”

I smiled at him proud that he remembered her.

“What happened with your friend?”

They shared a look and it got me confused. I thought at first that he broke up with her for Tina but I remembered that he had 2 or 3 girlfriends in college (Who he wouldn’t let me meet)

“We broke up when I was about to go to college.”

“Sooo, she’s still your friend?”

Tina looked sad at that.

“No. She found out that I had a crush on him and blamed me that he broke up with her. We’re not friends anymore.”

After that we got our food and ate it while talking. I was afraid that I won’t like her but I see now that she’s really nice and funny and I can see that my brother really likes her.

After Matt excused for the bathroom, I looked at Tina and then I said

“You know you’re really special to him. So, you better not hurt him.”

“What do you mean special?”

“He let me meet you that’s why you’re special. When I asked him once why he never lets me meet any of his girlfriends, he said that he will introduce his girlfriend when he’s serious about her.”

She looked at me surprised but composed herself when my brother came back and with that we paid and left.
