(Holden’s Point of View) The deep ringing of the doorbell shook me out of my slumber. I opened my eyes, a feeling of exhaustion still coated my eyelids. The full feeling in my stomach from all the blood I’d consumed had almost faded. The doorbell rang again. “DING DONG” It was followed by a loud knock on the door. I looked at my phone to see what time it was. Before I could look at the time, I noticed a slew of messages and missed phone calls, all from Charlotte. I could see from the texts she’d received my gift. “You bought me a car?” “I can’t accept this.” “You have to take it back!” “Please pick up the phone.” I smiled to myself.
