...Zander... Raine's voice was barely a whisper. I thought it was perhaps because I hadn't made it out of the main room, the noise of the large crowd muting her volume. But my name was all she managed to stutter before the phone clattered to the ground. I call her name, desperate for her to answer and say she dropped the phone by accident, but all I hear is a muffled struggle before the line goes quiet. My heart is in my mouth, and I feel helpless. I let Raine leave alone. If I had been more focused on her than this ridiculous event, then this would never have happened.
