My body shivers into Luca as the car continues to lurch and rush through the crowded city streets. Tears roll down my cheeks as my eyes squeeze shut, wishing this all to be over. Around us, I hear car horns, breaks squealing and the thuds and thumps of collisions.
Luca holds me close to him, protecting and shielding me with his lean frame. Our bodies bounce together as the car smashes its way through any obstacles. I feel Luca twist his body to check the scene unfolding behind us. His body stills, his breath catching in his chest. Without realising, I copy him, freezing my body in his arms.
