When Dante and his brothers weren't watching, I went to the bathroom, and turned on my cell phone, though he had advised me against reaching out to anyone before he was done with Antonio.
But I had already changed my mind. I wanted Antonio to get me away from Dante. He was the only one who could stand against him.
I sent Antonio a text, hoping he'd reply as soon as he could before Dante found out I was on the phone.
Me: "Have you given up looking for me yet?"
