Claire woke up with a pounding headache. Her eyes were swollen, her body heavy from crying throughout the night. The morning light streamed in through the curtains, golden and warm, but it did nothing to lift the heaviness in her heart. She pulled herself out of bed, and dragged her feet towards the bathroom.
