Claire tiptoed into Logan's room first. “Logan.” She called out to be sure he was in deep sleep. She tapped him many times but no response.
She worked quickly. With her shaky hands, she put on gloves and took out her syringe, needles and wipes, using the wipe to disinfect the skin where she planned on inserting the needle. She still acted carefully even though she knew Logan wouldn't wake up due to the effect of the sleeping pill.
She sighed deeply, grateful for the first aid course she took years ago. Once the needle was in, she slowly pulled back and drew the desired amount of blood, with a cotton ball, she applied pressure to the punctured site and prayed inwardly that Logan doesn't notice it when he wakes up in the morning. Labeling the blood sample as Logan's, she cleared the area
