(Tiana)
I watched as Alex went to the elevator and the doors closed behind him. I was furious at how he had just dismissed me like I was a nobody. I am the daughter of a Beta. Granted from another pack, but I was still not someone you just dismissed. Every since I came here to live with my cousin I have had my sights set on Alex. I was going to be the Luna of this pack. I just needed him to see I was the only choice. He had been looking for his mate for four years and still had nothing. The pack needed a strong Alpha and a strong Luna. He was going to have to take a chosen mate soon or the elders were going to start giving him problems.
I had started my plan in motion by being around him every chance I got. He had been nice to me, but then his sister and Betas' sister had told him what I had said to some of my friends. He tried to tell me he was not interested in me and that I was not going to be the Luna. I started working harder. Making sure the kitchen staff always made his favorite meals, making sure they had his special brand of coffee for him. Even having the Omegs put flowers in his room that I had picked.
There had to be something to get him to understand I was the best choice for his chosen mate. I was strong and had grown up with my father and mother teaching me how to be strong for the pack. Besides, he could give me the funds that I needed to keep myself happy. My parents had sent me here to live with my cousin as she is just an omega and is always happy with what she has. They hoped I would learn how to not be so into worldly goods as they put it. I had run up quite a bill with my father's credit card buying a brand new wardrobe and buying my friends expensive gifts.
Living with my cousin only showed me how much more I deserved than the simple life of an omega. I played the good girl when my parents came to visit, so they wouldn't take me away from here. I had a bigger fish to catch. It was time I started ramping up my plan. I needed Alex to see I could help him run this pack. But how?
"Tiana. There you are. Mom was looking all over for you. What are you doing in the pack house?" Angelina's voice cut into my thoughts. Great, the last person I wanted to see right now was my 'happy' cousin.
"Hey Angelina. I was just looking for you. Were you in the laundry?" I kept my tone light as I didn't need her telling my aunt I was bothering Alex.
"Yeah, I am working on a plan to make housekeeping more efficient. See, I have it all written down right here. There are things we could change to make it easier on the staff and less time-consuming." She handed me a notebook that she had her plan written on. I took it not planning on really reading it but after a few seconds I could see this would be a great idea.
That is it! I would bring this idea to Alex and he would see that I am looking out for the pack to make things work more efficiently. This could be my ticket.
"This looks great. But I can see some things that could use some tweaking. Can I hold on to this and give you some feedback?" Her face brightened up as we never really did anything together, no matter how hard she had tried to get me to be her friend.
"Sure, it would be great if you could help me with this so I can present it to the Alpha." She was bouncing on her toes. I hated how happy she was with her measly little life. Didn't she want better? Didn't she have any ambition to be anything other than a maid?
"Well, we had better get home. Mom is going to want help with dinner. You know how she hates it when we are late." She turned to leave and head to the door.
"Tell Aunt Tessa I won't be home for dinner. I got invited to stay and have dinner here." She spun around with a surprised look on her face.
"You got invited to stay for dinner? By who? "She c****d her head to the side in a sort of puppy dog listening to music.
"Giana. She is going out to dinner with her brothers on Saturday, and we are deciding where they should go." I had heard Giana talking to her friend Alisha earlier about her plans with her brothers.
"Oh so you guys are friends again?" After the whole rumor thing, Giana had let everyone know she didn't like me. She was going to have to get over that when I became Luna.
"Yes, we are starting over." The lie seemed to just come naturally. Angelina looked a little skeptical but just shrugged her shoulders.
She turned and headed for the door. Good, now that I had gotten rid of her I could go get ready for dinner with Alex. I needed to find some other clothes.
There was an omega walking past with some towels. She looked like she was heading to the elevator. I figured I would go up to Jessica's room and borrow some of her clothes. She is about the same size as me. As I got into the elevator, she looked at me with a worried look. I told her I was going to see Jessica.
When the elevator opened, she went to Jessica's door and knocked. I followed her. No one answered. She opened the door a little bit and called out for Jessica. There was still no answer.
"Well, I guess I must have missed her. I will go back downstairs and wait for her." I turned to walk back to the elevator. I looked towards the omega and saw her go into Jessica's room. I turned and went into the room across from the elevator. I would wait there until I was sure that the omega was out of Jessica's room to be able to go get some clothes. As I closed the door, I looked around the room and noticed that it looked like someone was living in that room. Who could be in here? I walked to the bathroom and saw someone there had towels and shower items in there. I opened the closet and there were lots of clothes. Maybe I could use these. They looked a little small, but maybe I can find a nice dress I can work with.
Looking through the clothes, I found a black dress that would fit perfectly. I put my dress on the back of one of the bottom drawers. I found a pair of slip on strappy black shoes. They were a little tight, but I could manage for a few hours. I pulled my hair back into a bun and put some pins in it, I found it on the dressing table. That should do for tonight. I looked in the floor-length mirror at the beautiful blonde looking back at me. How could he resist me? I picked up the notebook and eased the door open. Nobody was in the hall. I pushed the elevator button and went down to the main floor. This will be my night.
