Dionne I left the dining room with my mind still swirling. Brooklyn's eyes hadn’t left me the whole time, and that unsettling, piercing gaze was part of the reason I decided to leave my meal pretty early. Maybe I was imagining it, but the way she looked at me made me feel like I was under a microscope which was the last thing I ever wanted. I told myself I’d just finish up some assignments from school, anything to take my mind off how awkward everything had gotten.
