Dionne “What were we doing?” I wondered. For a moment, we just sat there, our lips on each other’s, waiting for who would pull away first. I was left torn between wanting to continue what had just started and second-guessing everything. I didn’t move and either did Hardin. There was this unspoken question between us like we both knew something had shifted, but neither of us was brave enough to admit it.
