Dionne I didn’t waste any time once my mom ran upstairs to deal with the radio situation. I took the opportunity and headed straight to my room, closing the door behind me as I let out a long breath I didn’t even realize I’d been holding in. My body felt heavy, like all the events of the past day were weighing me down. I collapsed onto my bed, sinking into the mattress, but my mind wouldn’t stop racing. It kept jumping from one thing to another, the mess at school, the stares, the laughter. God, the laughter.
