It's not everyday that you wish death upon yourself. Ever since I was born, I've been used. I don't know where I came from, all I know is I was trained, to assassinate my own kind. Why you may ask? I have no choice. What master wishes I must do.
I can't ask questions as why, or what did they do to deserve this? Because I get punished for even looking at him. My only peace and revelation is writing in my notebook. The souls that have been taken still live on through my memories and forever on page. I never wanted to kill, or to be this way. But as I've said, I have no choice. As I look up from my writing, he's staring at me with a smirk on his face. The crease under the door gives just enough light on his face to show his head motioning to the door.
Finally! I get to leave, whether if its to kill or for free time. I've been pent up in there for days, training in the dark. I cant see the guards when they attack, but I suppose its for the better. if I could see them, id know when their attacking, so I guess that's masters way of telling me not to only rely on sight, but hearing as well. One of the guards flicks on the light switch, turning to stare at me as they pull out their stun batons, throwing their direction towards the door. Everything is bright and hazy but beyond that door is freedom... if only for a few minutes.
Marching through the door I meet the eyes of the rest of the "students" when we really know what we are. There is about 15 of us, so they treat us as though we are special but we are all treated the same. I cant help but notice that when I'm around them, they seem... almost afraid of me? But I really don't know why. Is it because Im different? Is it because I don't have classes like the rest of them? Everybody rushed to the lunch line, making it unbearably long, so maybe i'll skip lunch this time. Turning and walking over to my table I see my master, holding a box. He looks up at me as I approach him.
"Keket you should eat, its not healthy to skip a meal." He motioned towards the box. I just stare at the box while he talks, making eye contact is a major no. "I have a job for you, if you get caught that's it. We can't swoop in to save you. We can't send anybody after you, because if you can't do it." He looks around at all the other "students" around me. "Then they can't." When I reached for the box he interrupted me once more. "If your interested in getting out of here for even a little bit, come find me. I'll be waiting for you at our place." With that he walks away. Leaving me with the box, its very pretty I have to say. A wolf howling to the moon is engraved and painted black and white on top. Opening the lid, revealed the most beautiful building I've ever seen. Obviously rich style, but looks built in 1800's. Huge courtyard with a fountain, two wolves oozing liquid from their mouths as they howled to the moon.
But behind the fountain is the biggest colonial I've ever seen. It's a mansion, with the words "Thy Brethren Be Blood" written above the door. Under the photo is written "1832 Legion Pack wins". What's that mean? Legion Pack. That sounds familiar. Under the photo is another of the same building, but different writing, I never noticed the people in the background until now. Flipping between both photos its hard to tell them apart, except for the different faces and writing. "1834 Hellhound Pack wins". Is written on the second. Looking back in the box is a hand written note. "Kill Prince John and Princess Sarah" dated 1835.'
What the hell? Standing up to make my way to our 'spot', I couldn't help but think, think about who those people were, how long have these assassins been around, and especially what is that school? Everybody stares at me as I left with box in hand. It doesn't make any sense! When I reached the door it was already open, inviting me to freedom. To the smell of fall, which is my favorite, not to mention Halloween or anything. But Halloween is my favorite because I can dress up as an assassin and they'd never know. A soft breeze blew hair in front of my face, stopping me mid-step.
"Glad to see you came Keket" master whispered into my ear.
"Of course master. You know I can't say no to a job, I never have." he bent down and kissed my shoulder, while moving my hair out of my face. I hate when he does this.
"Your the best pet I could have ever asked for. I'm glad I took you that day." By now he was standing in front of me, lifting my head. His eyes pierced into my soul, his smile growing by the second.
